Is it easy to follow the WW plan with a brick of a phone?!

Hi. Am considering joining a slimming group, but when I looked on the WW website, there was much emphasis on apps and phones. My mobile is a total brick, used only for texting and calls. Admittedly we have an iPad at home, but I rarely use it, and prefer my beloved MacBook.

So I guess what I'm trying to ask is, will the plan be a complete faff without the technology to back it up?

I should add that I would go to meetings, rather than online only, if that makes a difference. I'm on a budget, so a wee bit worried about the cost, but hey, I need to do something as now very overweight.

As I understand it, you get a certain amount of smartpoints a day (to be used as you wish?), with most fruit and veg being unlimited. Have only had a quick glance on Google, but does that sound about right? How are the smartpoints in food calculated?

At least with Slimming World (done a few years ago, but no local meetings now) you didn't have to think about what you were doing too much.

So, would it be doable with my crappy phone ... and would you recommend the WW plan as a whole?

Thanks in advance :)

I lost just over 4 stone while owning a dreadful phone that wouldn't run any apps at all.

Instead in just tracked my food online on my pc, I used the WW scales to weigh out food (they are quite expensive but still cheaper than a new phone ). Through the day I used to make a written note of the point's I'd eaten.

If I was going for a meal out I'd look up food in advance on the website. I have a few friends who were also doing WW and no one minded scanning the odd bar code for me if we were out and about.

I wonder if it actually made me more organised about what I ate because I had to plan in advance. I think they still sell the WW calculator, so you can input all the food info and get your point's that way.
