How to maintain goal?

Hiya,

I'm doing WW but I'm not a member, I don't go to any meetings or do anything online. I'm around 4lb off my goal weight and was wondering how I go about maintaining my loss? My current point allowance is 26 dailies along with the 49 weeklies.

Any help would be appreciated!

My app switched me from 26 to 34 when it put me in maintenance mode, and I still had the same 49 weeklies. So I think you just go up to 34 dailies to maintain.

Thank you! if i find the next 4lb comes off easily i might see if i can go a bit further. 34 seems quite a lot its an extra 8pp. i dont particularly use the 49weeklies unless im having a bad day.

I don't use them either, the more I have the more I want so I stick to the 26 whenever possible. I use maybe 5 extras a week. Exercise has really slowed my weight loss down recently, although my shape is a lot better. My aim at the moment is 9st6lb, which leaves me 9lb to lose. Not sure if I will want to go lower than that or not, will see when I get there I guess!

Exactly! im the same with the 49 weeklies, when i use them i tend not to lose so i probably use upto 10 weeklies on a bad week! i dont understnd how anyone can use the full 49 and still lose! Its weigh in day for me on monday, im hoping to see a 1 1/2lb loss this week and next week to get me to goal! fingers crossed!

It doesn't make sense does it! I go to meetings with 2 friends that eat (or mostly drink!) all of their extra points and they do still lose though, in fact this week they both lost more than me, and I'd stuck rigidly to the 26! I still just can't bring myself to eat them though. Good luck to you for this week, fingers crossed! Weds will be my first weigh in since I stopped daily workouts so I'm hoping to shift a bit. Also was 10st1lb last week so dying to see a 9 at the beginning instead of a 10!! Here's hoping anyway Smile

Sad news I gained 1/4 this week! I kind of knew I had the odd splurge. But See! I stuck to my 26 and only dipped into my 49 1 or two days (I haven't had the full 49!!) and I haven't lost. I have to be more strict I think it's because I'm close to goal but if I've gained from going over 26 the odd day how can I up my points to the maintaining points I'll gain every week. Looks like I'll be on 26 for life!

I have 2 weight peaks per cycle. I think once you get nearer to goal you have to monitor your weight over a month rather than relying on weekly weigh ins.

I stopped counting pp and still stick broadly to h&f list. Allowed myself more weeklies and have lost nearly another stone since target. I've stopped eating low fat yoghurt etc also.

maintaining is really hard I think and ww doesn't do it well imo. The app still uses the same messages even if your bmi is 21 (hence I cancelled my subscription).

hevs10593 · 06/10/2014 21:42

I've lost 1lb this week that's including the 1/4lb I gained last week. Another 2 3/4 lb till goal. Getting there slowly, although its my friends bday night out on sat and I don't want to spoil my week with drink :(

Apparently you need to eat your weeklies. If you don't you aren't eating enough. Hence why you still lose even though you use them.

I didn't always use my exercise points though.

hevs10593 · 09/10/2014 22:43

I don't lose though, looking back at my weight loss and the weeks I've eaten my weeklies resulted in me sticking the same weight or a small 1/4lb loss. I seem to lose more if I stick to 26 but mix my points up and have the odd low day.

A lot depends on the individual. If you are older like me your metabolism slows down and although exercise helps you need fewer points. I use some activity points and don't regularly use weeklies but will do on occasion..

When I was losing weight my average loss was 2lbs a week and I never put on weight. Since I reached goal I haven't been able to stabilise my weight and it fluctuates. At the moment I'm 1st under goal which is still a healthy weight, but I shouldn't lose much more.

It's very easy to put on weight and I find after almost a year I'm constantly going back down again to 28 pp to lose it. Having said that I've lost a huge amount (started at 20st 12lb down to 9st 2lbs) so I know what to do and I'm very determined not to put it back on.
