Talk to me about meetings

Am thinking of trying a meeting for the first time next Weds but I have no idea what to expect.

How is the weight loss managed, does everybody else know what you have lost or gained & are the meetings friendly?

Do the meetings help to keep you motivated as opposed to doing it all online? I tried just online once & I just drifted off it & eventually was paying for nothing so I cancelled. I was thinking that if I knew I was attending a weekly meeting then I would be less likely to drift again but my sole experience of them is my mum going every week in the 80's :)

Hiya

Im a clerk at my meetings so I'll tell you how it works with us, most others seem to be similar. When you enter there's a desk for signing in, and one of the clerks will give you your record card. You then line up to be weighed, the first 2 week must be with the leader but after that you can be weighed by a clerk. Your weight is private and never shared unless you actively choose to. You can usually have a quick chat with whoever weighs you, for support/encouragement etc, then you can leave or sit down for the meeting talk. Our leader starts the talk about halfway thru the slot, but you can still get weighed by a clerk if you arrive during this. Theres shop selling WW products as well if you want them. The talk is usually themed, with input from members, and our leader often asks 'who is pleased with how their weigh in went?' So if you've had a particularly good result and want to share, you can, but its up to you. I've had a lot of success and having a good leader has helped loads so don't be afraid to shop around to find one you click with.
