Measly pro points for exercise

I run around 5 miles 3 or 3 times week. I'm slow - it takes me an hour or slightly more to do this.

I can't believe I only get 5 pp for this pain! Thats two, two fingered kit kats. My run thingy says I am burning roughly 100 cals per mile. Am I doing this right?

Several people (PE teachers, ex personal trainers etc) have told me that the calorie counters on exercise machines and those fitness monitors vastly over estimate how many calories you've burnt.

My DH is super fit and has all the gizzmos and gadgets. He uses a heart rate monitor for running and claims that you are actually in the optimum fat burning zone when you are walking, not running.

Also, according to WW, whether 30 mins of brisk walking or 30 mins of jogging, you get 3pp. If you don't enjoy running, you'd be as well going for a brisk walk, or try to find something else you enjoy.

You could try the website mapmyrun, which uses your weight and sex to determine how many calories you've burned.
