Morning lovely ladies!
I’ve never really done my measurements and always wish I had when I want to look back. A few weeks ago I did my waist, hips and neck (weirdly?! 🤷‍♀️) and put them into my nutracheck app. I never really know where I am with measurements, I know where I stand with pounds!

I have a headache and a hangover today after drinking too much wine last night and eating way too many snacks and nibbles and peanuts. My mouth actually feels a bit burned, but i think that’s from some salt and vinegar Pringles 🤦‍♀️

holiday going well, my food is actually really good. Lots of salads and chicken. I made a fruit salad yesterday which I will snack on today and roasted a chicken so I have cold meat. We have pork belly tonight to bbq. But it’s the wine and gin that is tipping me over, and weakens my resolve for everything else. I’m really going to try to stick to proper food only today- no snacky bits and no sweet rubbish either, as they are just empty calories. I did do 25k steps yesterday though so that will have helped.

this morning I am going for a run with dh and then we will be going out to Brixham for the day.

hope you’re all enjoying the bank holiday whatever you are up to

poorpaws · 29/05/2023 07:31

@thenewaveragebear1983 where are you? I can see Brixham from my bungalow. Have a lovely day out.

I'm slinking in to quietly and painfully admit that I gained 2.25 lbs last week. I am slinking off now to mend my ways ...

@effiesgoldwig We are glad to have you too. I have to mend my ways now ...

morning all - still 14.1 here 😫. Im limiting myself to 2 meals as I’m never hungry until 10 ish so hold off to lunchtime. I wonder if I should introduce a protein shake (🤢) in the morning but I can see they’re high in sucrose…. I have a desk job though. @thenewaveragebear1983 and @poorpaws how lucky are you both to be in Paignton with the weather so lovely ☀️

Zebracat · 29/05/2023 11:53

96.2 so Sts , but I had a pulled muscle and couldn’t do much ( but eat). I am absolutely determined to register a loss next Monday. So I pledge, no snacks, no seconds , weigh everything. Stay active. Otherwise next year @Vebrithien will be off to the ball in a size 8 gown and I will be 96.2 , but but but.

Theredjellybean · 29/05/2023 19:24

i weighed in today at 71.2 ...so stayed the same but from looking at mfp i have lost weight steadily since january ..is gone up and down but overall trend is down.
just annoyed as earlier in the week i had see a 70.8 on the scales...
oh well onwards and downwards

Theredjellybean · 29/05/2023 19:24

@poorpaws .do not feel you have to slink away...we are not judging ..ever

For what it's worth, the last time I was a size 8, was more than 20 years ago.

My hips will never again grace that size.

I've had one drink tonight. Time of the month is starting and I feel super down. All hormonal, but I am desperately trying to not hit the chocolate.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 30/05/2023 07:42

Morning all. I have eaten and drunk soooooo much, diet is completely out of the window. Lots of alcohol, yesterday we had a chippy tea in brixham and an ice cream afterwards. Then dh and I drank wine in the hot tub and had some late night cheese and biscuits 🤦‍♀️

having a lovely time though. I won’t say I’m not worried about it because I’m always worried about it really, but I’m trying to enjoy it and not make myself feel guilty about it.

today we are heading to the beach, although it is quite windy and I think that might change as the dc won’t want to be sat shivering in a strong cold breeze. I’m not running today but I will try and get a swim in later and do a little workout with my headphones on. We are going out for a meal tonight with my bil and sil while dh’s parents look after the children so that’s a rare treat but also very likely to involve big meals and wine.

poorpaws · 30/05/2023 08:11

@thenewaveragebear1983 sounds like you are having a great holiday, enjoy your time here and you can sort the inevitable weight gain when you get back with a lot of support from all of us. You have chosen such a good week for weather so enjoy every minute.

I did so well yesterday, good food choices, lots of movement and even cleaning in the evening 😱. I'm try to compensate for last weeks downfall.

Have a great Tuesday everyone, I'm off to the supermarket now and will make very healthy choices.

Jealous of Devon holidays. I know the area very well. Always think Brixham people must have buns of steel from those hills! As long as you do lots of walking and playing with the dc, some extra calories won’t matter. @Vebrithien I was never a size 8. I was a size 10 once after a heartbreak, but turned out also to be pregnant so that put paid to that! I would love to be a 14.
I'm doing well so far this week. Healthy food choices and lots of activity.

Vebrithien · 31/05/2023 08:34

Morning!

Realised that, due to the Bank Holiday, I'm a day late with weighing.

94.4kg
1.1kg lost this week

Pleased with that. Seems to be levelling off a bit now, after a few pretty strict weeks.

I've now dropped 5kg in just over a month, yes reducing what I eat but also have massively increased my activity levels. Managed 16 mins running today, in 4 runs.

My aim for June is to get into the overweight category. 92kg.

Theredjellybean · 31/05/2023 09:42

Yeh... brilliant @Vebrithien ...keep going...you should be pleased.
It's the steady commitment and continuity that gets results.

Vebrithien · 31/05/2023 11:02

Thanks @Theredjellybean

Forgot to include measurements, not so good.

Zebracat · 31/05/2023 11:40

Crikey @Vebrithien Well done, that is absolutely brilliant. You are an inspiration but how tall are you? I don’t get to overweight until 86 kilos.I’m 5 ft 7.

Gigi789 · 31/05/2023 11:50

@Vebrithien wow well done! You must be really pleased. I really must increase my activity… given up with Noom and the weighing each day, I’ll weigh once a week when I do my measurements. I’m eating sensibly in an 8 hour window. 🤞

Vebrithien · 31/05/2023 13:23

I'm 5 ft 9, so yes, will drop into the overweight sooner.

I am pleased, yes.

The biggest changes have been;

Exercise. I've done all 12 runs from the first 4 weeks of Couch to 5k + a cardio workout a couple of times a week.

Less alcohol. Wine once a week, one other drink at some point within the week.

16:8 on weekdays

Less carbs for lunch.

Weighing/nutritional information for allllll food and drink.

Theredjellybean · 01/06/2023 08:18

I weighed yesterday and hit 70.8kgs...so pleased...into the 70's..
However I had a really tough day ...had to take dsd to residential treatment program and leave her...which she wanted and is best for her but it was hard...and I cried all way home
Eldest DD is at home so we drank waaaaaayyyyyy too much wine...I mean waaaaaayyyyyy too much.
So today feeling bloated and disgusting hangover from hell ..

thenewaveragebear1983 · 01/06/2023 09:02

Morning everyone. I hope your dsd is ok @Theredjellybean, it must be so hard to leave her but like you say, it will be good for her 💐

Still on holiday, we are having a great time but I’m feeling a little weary and have drunk a lot of wine. The next two days will be a mix of the same. I am quite looking forward really to getting back on it on Sunday. I’ve calculated I have around 43/44 days after getting home until my 40th birthday so I’m going to try a new strategy I think. Calorie counting isn’t working especially well for me. I’m reading a book about UPF and I think I’m going to do a really clean eating ‘project’ on myself, aiming for 40 good days (because I love a catchy title 😂) which will allow me a couple of ‘cheat days’ - and really strip my food back and nourish myself a bit, drawing in all the bits I like out of different diets/plans)
And in a very brave move, I’m going to hide my scales after my day 1 weigh in and not weigh myself again until I’ve done my 40 days.

have a good day all

Zebracat · 01/06/2023 11:27

Oh, so sorry @Theredjellybean , but she’s in the right place. @thenewaveragebear1983 sounds radical. It will be interesting to hear how that feels for you. I’ve been craving chocolate and sweet things at night. And giving in to the craving. Need to start having the big bowl of cut up fruit and veg ready. I have been quite active so the neglected child in me is saying I NEED that food! I’m such a twat.

effiesgoldwig · 01/06/2023 11:45

Sounds like a really tough time @Theredjellybean it sounds like she wants help and wants to get better though which is really important. I can't imagine how difficult it must be for you.

Good luck with your 40 day challenge @thenewaveragebear1983 I look forward to hearing how you get on! (And stealing some ideas)

TalkToTheHand123 · 01/06/2023 22:55

Had a pasty and sausage roll from Gregg's today, which is fortunately a slip up which is becoming less frequent. It gave me quite a bit of indigestion so hopefully will keep me on track more as we enter a new month and a new determination. 👍
