@poorpaws the ones I use are from a company called Clearminds, most of the sessions are less than £15 each and you buy the file and it’s yours to keep. I’ve been really impressed with the effects and also the customer service as well. I recommend them to everyone.

it’s my party day today and it’s absolutely pouring with rain 😢 and set to be all day! So looks like we’ll be setting up indoors. Obviously my food and drink will be totally off the scale today, but then it pretty much has been all week anyway! I know I am going to feel dreadful and hungover tomorrow as well 🤦‍♀️

poorpaws · 22/07/2023 08:54

@thenewaveragebear1983 thank you, I'll take a look. Have a super day, I hope it goes well and you all have a fabulous time.

Just checking in. I have given myself a 1000 calorie limit on MFP as my TDEE is 1310.

I am definitely losing weight, but will do the traditional Weigh ourselves Wednesday thing 😂

I have felt a little dizzy a couple of times, but always carry cereal bars with me so can just stave that off. I have always had low blood pressure, despite being overweight.

Keep going everyone. We can have a great weekend without gorging ourselves!

MrJollyLivesNextDoor · 22/07/2023 09:43

Hello lovely people

I haven't been on much as I've been snowed under with worth the last couple of weeks, evenings, weekends trying to get this damn project finished. And it now is! I don't have to work at all this weekend and I'd like to just stay in bed but I'm being dragged out to watch a football match with DP in the rain 🤣

Surprisingly I have stayed at 13.13 which amazes me given that I have fallen off the wagon...although I do think I am much more mindful than before and I have refused offers of cake etc which would never have happened!

One week until I go on holiday so my goal of 13.6 is well out of reach, but hey ho. I will make a concerted effort to be good this week and try not to go too nuts on holiday.

Hope everyone is ok, will have a read back over the thread soon (possibly sneakily when supposed to be watching Plymouth Argyll under 18s or whoever it is ⚽️ )

Atalanta1 · 23/07/2023 11:03

Wet and windy here, we’re halfway through our summer holidays and the kids are being a tad fractious. So we are playing at birthday parties for teddies…it’s a slow Sunday! Not snacking is hard, it helps having managed yesterday, I’m clock watching to next meal haha. Lots of cuppas.
B - porridge
L - banana & oat smoothie
D - Mushroom & cheese omelette & green salad

thenewaveragebear1983 · 23/07/2023 16:33

I’ve lost most of today to my hideous hangover and the fact that I woke at 5am 🤦‍♀️

I’ve finally dragged myself up and out for a short walk in the sunshine, feel a little better. Food had been atrocious today, leftover party food and cake…. I am now sitting with my new notebook, plotting out my meals for the week ahead and doing my shopping order. I’m planning a very strict week to give me a little boost before my holiday.

dh and I were talking yesterday about how unhealthy we feel, I think a big overhaul is due once we get back from hols. We’ll have a clear 4 weeks until our next social engagement and I would like to hugely cut down on alcohol for those weeks.

poorpaws · 24/07/2023 07:43

Good morning all

@thenewaveragebear1983 I hope you've fully recovered from your hangover and ready to rock this week. I've been there, I bet most of us have. I hope it was worth it and you had an amazing time.

Weigh morning and I'm delighted. If you remember the week before this I had what I called a glutton week, gained 3.25 lbs (which I refused to own up to) and I was definitely throwing the towel in on this dieting thing. This week I decided I'd bitterly regret it, would only gain even more weight if I gave up and got back on the wagon.

I've lost 4 lbs this week so I'm back in the 10 stone zone at
10 st 13.5 lbs. Now I need to work hard to get nearer the middle of the 10s, but I'm so pleased with myself 😇

I hope everyone has a good weigh-in and a lovely Monday. I'm off to m&s to pick up new bras from my bra fitting last week, new white skirt and take a bra back that I've worn once and it's got a hole in it (mesh type bra and the mesh has completely come away from the seam).

Have a good day and 🤞for your weigh-in.

That’s great news on tire weight loss and you should definitely be proud of yourself.

I only joined last week but I’ve read back through the thread and I really found your posts to be so encouraging and inspirational, and the fact you nearly fell of the wagon and had doubts shows you are human and just like the rest of us when we go through bad days too.

I’m really glad you’ve got your motivation back and are happy again 👍

effiesgoldwig · 24/07/2023 08:05

Disasterous week here. Gained two pounds. But I haven't counted calories all week and I've had 3 meals out so it's hardly surprising.

Back on it today hopefully.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 24/07/2023 08:15

Morning all, thanks @poorpaws . I slept on and off all day yesterday, and went to bed at 9.30, so feel rested today and ready for a good week! I made the decision not to weigh myself as it can’t do me any good, and instead to just get back on it and see where I am nearer the end of the week. We go on holiday in Saturday, back to Devon (this time to dawlish) so I’m very focussed. I’ve taken advantage of my child free few days to book several evening gym classes which I never normally get to do as I’m ferrying children to after school activities.

i ate so much yesterday, I’m going to fast this morning until I’m properly hungry before having my breakkie. I’m going for max protein/minimal carb this week, gallons of water, lots of salad and veg. And sleep! One benefit of my dc being away is that I can go to bed when I want, not waiting for ds to reach his bedtime!

hoping for a good week 🤞 have a good one all!

poorpaws · 24/07/2023 08:19

@MyTruthIsOut Thank you, I feel really good this morning. I hope you enjoy this thread, stay with us and lose weight. We really are a good supportive group without judgment and I really hope you see some positive results with is.

@effiesgoldwig not to worry, 2 lbs isn't that much considering I gained nearly double that, you'll sort it soon 😀

@thenewaveragebear1983 ooh Dawlish, haven't been there for years and it's not far away. Teignmouth is near and a nice town. As far as I can remember there's not too much at Dawlish but the black swans are quite famous.

I hope the weather is kind to you, it's been on and off, rain then sun, for days.

The very first time we had a holiday here (many years ago) we were in a caravan in Dawlish and had torrential rain for the two full weeks🙈. I hope it's better for you.

Hi all, just weighed and 14 and a half again, which has been this for the last few months. Had a big bowl of chickpeas yesterday as ran out of fruit and veg, which filled me up quite well although was quite busy also to keep my mind off food.

Plan of action for this week is to do a few more stretches throughout my days if I can remember to and eat more chickpeas ☺️

Zebracat · 24/07/2023 09:10

Blimey @poorpaws that’s an incredible result. Well done. Welcome to @Atalanta1 and @MyTruthIsOut .
I didn’t weigh last week. Today I’m 96.5 which is 100 grams up on 2 weeks ago. That’s kind of ok, but actually I’ve barely eaten because everything tastes funny and I’m still really sad. Bit scary because, just to stay the same is going to be quite difficult. Although what I have eaten is sweet stuff, so I can stop all that.

Catcatcatcatcat · 24/07/2023 09:48

SW 13 stone 1. 17/7
CW 12 stone 11
Week 1 loss 4 pounds.

Obviously I am very happy with this loss. I have done 16:8 and tried not to go over 1000 calories.

I have had an X-ray on my hips but it will be a couple of weeks before I get the results.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 24/07/2023 15:06

@poorpaws we’re at dawlish Warren actually, my folks have a holiday lodge there so we have evicted them for a week to get a free holiday 😂 I think the forecast is the dreaded “sunshine and showers” for the week we are there, which means I have to make my peace with going with the flow and being prepared for all eventuality rather than being able to plan ahead…

Gigi789 · 24/07/2023 17:08

Hello ladies! Crikey, just had a read of July posts and there’s a lot going on for you all! Nice to see some new peeps too 👍. Congrats to all just for getting thru July…. Well I have really tried this month, walked dogs for a good hour each morning at a march, eating 16:8 and eating sensibly - unfortunately did have a couple of boozy evenings out which led to cheesy chips on way home (need to grow up!) on one evening. I have lost tho!! Bouncing between 13.10 and 13.12 for the last week or so. So about 4lb loss which not exactly ground breaking but it’ll do me for July!!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 24/07/2023 20:02

I’ve had a good day today, really low carb (42g) and well under calories (1300) and I went for a very slow 5 Mile run after work. I already have the detox headache grumbling so I know it’s been v low carb today!

i slept so well last night and I plan to get to bed early again tonight to catch up on some much needed zzzz. It’s my office day tomorrow, I have prepped my lunch already and will have salmon and veg traybake with sweet chilli sauce for dinner 😋 and an evening circuits class for good measure.

Theredjellybean · 25/07/2023 20:35

Hi all... I'm still wafting between 70.5 and 72 kgs
But after a four day blow out end of last week, just a few good days got it dropping quickly back to 70.7 today.
Had long run and then was really hungry... friend is staying so we did have a few (2) margaritas...ooops.
But I'm feeling quite positive, I wore a dress last week that has not fit for three yrs and I bought new underwear and have had to send the bra back as it's too big in the band and cup...
I have five weeks until a holiday...would like to be hovering around 68....

Must stop drinking those damm magharitas...

Theredjellybean · 25/07/2023 20:38

@thenewaveragebear1983 ...when you've done a long run how do you deal with the hunger ?
I don't eat breakfast..go running early morning.
I'd usually not eat lunch until 13:30-14..
But today , having done a 10 mile run, I was really really hungry at 11...
I ate bread which I don't ever eat at lunch...
What do you eat post run that doesn't involve thick white bread covered in butter and salt?

thenewaveragebear1983 · 25/07/2023 21:02

@Theredjellybean I think it’s counter intuitive to not eat after your run. You need protein and slow release carbs within about 1 hour of your long run (what’s long depends on what your training looks like, for me anything over 10km, definitely a 15/16 kms would count as a long run)- overnight oats with peanut butter, hard boiled eggs, lean chicken, sweet potato etc. Then you need to rehydrate- water, milk or an electrolyte sachet. Weigh yourself before and after your next long run, seriously- I can lose 3lbs + on a 10 miler and (unfortunately 😢) none of that is fat- it’s water and muscle glycogen. A litre of water is 2.25lbs so that’s what you need to replenish, a bit of glycogen restoration and some salts. That will stave off the hunger. That being said, you don’t need this in addition to your daily calories, but equally, if you’re burning 1000 calories running then you should and could afford to have an extra 300/400 post run. I actually get hungrier the next day, the run endorphins cut my appetite and then the next day I’m gnawing my arm off

thenewaveragebear1983 · 25/07/2023 21:32

Gone over on cals today and higher carbs. It was my office day and that always ends badly so to be fair, I’ve done ok today by allowing a bit extra rather than go completely off piste. 1800 and just over 100g carbs. My food was super yummy though, I had overnight oats with chocolate protein powder, lunch was salad with coleslaw and chicken, and I had a protein shake after work and before the gym . dinner was chicken wrapped in Parma ham and mushrooms sautéed and then with a spoonful of garlic and herb Philadelphia cheese stirred in. I then treated myself to 100g of halo top ice cream, some strawberries and a tiny slither of chocolate cake- so all that explains where the extra cals/carbs went!

I’m due on in the next few days and I really really struggled to sleep last night, this usually means it’s imminent, but that isn’t helping my cravings. Tomorrow I’m back wfh and I will go back to basics again and keep the carbs as low as possible. My dc are still away so I am going to run in the morning and then do a class after work if I can motivate myself!

MyTruthIsOut · 25/07/2023 21:41

I’m so jealous of everyone who has the energy / ability to run all these miles. I wish I could do it 😢

Ledochas · 26/07/2023 00:34

I am also jealous of these mega runners @MyTruthIsOut

Ladies, can we talk weight gain and periods? Has anyone tracked over a few months to see when the bloat is added and then lost again?

Theredjellybean · 26/07/2023 06:11

@MyTruthIsOut ...is there a reason you couldn't run ? 12 yrs ago I wouldn't have run for the last bus leaving an apocalypse...now I'm marathon training.
