Anyone read and followed this 'plan'?

No but I am reserving a space here to discuss as this interests me greatly!

Have read. It's basically portion control and eating less of better quality stuff. Common sense. NOt a plan of any sort.

Also with the traditional French diet they have more courses. Instead of having an "assiette anglais" where we have the salad with everything else they will have a salad course first, then a meat course, etc, so they take longer over their food. Makes sense it's more satisfying so you want to eat less.

It's also more of an occasion instead of shovelling it down and they talk about tastes, flavours, textures, etc.

surely thats only in restaurants tho.....not an everyday experience

diamondsandtiaras · 04/07/2010 20:58

I think it pretty much is an everyday experience tbh. Most french families will sit down for an evening meal and really take their time over it IME. I lived in france for a year and there was no eating in front of the tv and shovelling your dinner down in 10 minutes (or is that just me )

I'm not French living in France. I'm probably one of the thinnest at the school gates.

Of course French women get fat! IMO France is behind other western countries in the shovelling in of fast food, but following along nonetheless.
