Not sure when to stop

Hi all,

This is a nice dilemma, but I would value some opinions. I have lost 3 and a half stone since I was at my heaviest. I am now 9 stone 13lbs and am about 5'8". My original plan had been to stop at just under 10 stone.

However, I have become a little bit addicted to the thrill of just losing a couple more pounds. Also, because of my very annoying shape (30D, 26" waist and 39" hips) I am now right smack between a 10 and a 12 in most shops, and am wondering if I might be better to lose just a bit more so that I can be a more consistent size. Heck, I can't order from Boden at the moment, this is serious! (Although a lot nicer than wearing size 16 clothes I have to say!)

Wwyd? I don't want to look too skinny and am worried that if I try even harder for that final push I will just lose the tiny bit of boob I have managed to hold onto and still have a massive bum. I wish someone would invent something that makes fat come off only in the places where you want it to!

9st 3 for someone 5ft.8 sounds low?

fat is harder to lose off your bum so you would most prob lose it from your face/chest etc.

Have you seen those heat treatments where you stand in a this big barrel thing and it warms up the lower half of your body and then you're supposed to burn more fat from thighs and bums than normal? Looks quiet good - will see if I can find the link.

Incidently, how did you do so well losing all that weight? Well done and congratulations - that's a lot to lose.

Nope can't find the article.
Looked good though - think Gok used it for a woman with big thighs. Basically, it speeds up the rate your lower half burns fat.

Oooh, sounds good, good old Gok. Am 9st 13, 9st3 would be a bit too low I think.

I lost the weight with calorie counting and massively upping the amount of exercise I do. I ate about 1800 calories per day - it has taken a LONG time to get all the weight off, but am determined to keep it off!

That sounds very sensible. Wish I had your willpower. I don't seem to eat that much but do very little exercise other than walking.

Do you do specific exercises to target your thighs? I'm a fan of the 30 day shred, and it really tones your bum and thighs. My inner thighs are still wobbly, but my hips look quite svelte .

I got called skinny for the first time ever yesterday! Gone from a size 16/18 to a size 12.

luciemule · 03/07/2010 19:18

Nartha - you've motivated me. I'm currently a 14/16 and really fed up with having no energy. I'm going to look at the 30 day shred and start getting toned and fit.

That sounds great Naetha! I think part of my problem is I just have a really wide pelvis. Great when giving birth, not so great in everyday life! When I was 18, I weighed around 8 stone and still had 36" hips. Will give the DVD a try though, can't do any harm can it :-)
