I have the book from a friend and it seems to be something that I feel I can do, however it doesn't seem as ridgid as other lo carb diets not as caring about calories/fat as others, I am finding it almost impossible to believe that it will make any difference.

positive success stories/any experience of it at all would be fab.

Erm...is that related to the Carbohydrate Addicts Diet? A newer version maybe?

I found that I lost weight following the normal Carb Addicts Diet and it was sustainable too.

Low carb breakfast, lunch and then a normal well balanced dinner eaten within 1 hour, and nothing else all day, no snax etc.

I found there was very little info on the CAD because people had this image of it as allowing a 1 hour carb binge every night and dismissed it as a fad diet, but it really isn't like that, it is all about the insulin balance and timed insulin release.

I liked it because I still got to eat fruit and cereals if I wanted, while still seeing low carb style results.

Also, it has the added benefit of actually reducing cravings for sugary/carby things, unlike full low carb, where I would happily at any time have pulled off the wallpaper and eaten it for its delicious carb content.

it is that diet strawberry,
have you kept the weigt off?
how much did you loose?
did it come off in chunks or a regular 2 lbs a week kind of thing?

I lost about 2 stone which came off in the classic lo carb style - encouraging initial loss dropping to slow but steady with the occasional plateau followed by the occasional whoosh.

I have kept the weight off despite going off the diet...but I still have more to lose. I stopped the diet because unrelatedly I became severely anaemic and felt really depressed and tired all the time, and I couldn't be bothered with it.

Since then however, I have discovered the Shangri-La Diet (info here) which essentially gives you appetite suppression, and it really works. It doesn't seem so popular, perhaps like with the CAD people feel suspicious of something that seems counterintuitive, but it's all about the science, and I know it works to reduce appetite drastically because I have tried it myself!

I am losing weight at the rate of about 1 lb per week without making any conscious effort to change my food intake. I just genuinely don't feel hungry or interested in food a lot of the time.

I've told several people about the diet but no one seems to believe it could work. But it is!

Good luck with whatever path you choose - I think insulin and appetite control are definitely key.

thannks.

I tried starting it today, but had cereals or bagels as a breakfast choice (bum!)
bowl of soup worked well for lunch
but need to start after I have been shopping with this diet in mind
