Weight loss chat

A space to talk openly about weight loss journeys and challenges. Mumsnet hasn't checked the qualifications of anyone posting here. You may wish to speak to a medical professional before starting any diet.

The good news is my blood tests are negative. The bad news is I don't think I can blame the extra weight I have put on since having my youngest on having a problem.

I still think there is something not quite right but hey ho.

I went to Boots to get a sandwich and saw their weight loss management tablets and potions. I intend to carry on withe exercising for at least an hour 4-6 times a week and not eating rubbish (if only I could eat breakfast every day I woudn't be in this mess) but I was wondering if these tablets, ect would give me a kick start.

Any advice?

TIA .

Sorry, I might have missed previous threads, but why can't you eat breakfast every day? It's important!

As far as I'm aware, the only pill clinically proven to work is Orlistat/Alli.

I found what helped motivate me more than anything else was setting myself a target and a date by which I wanted to achieve that target. it gave me something to work towards. Once you have that motivation, then there are all manner of tools to help get you there. I have used low carbing, calorie counting, and low fat and Alli to get me there, and I'm at my target weight. Ironically, even after losing nearly 2 and a half stone, I'm still not happy, so I've set myself another target weight - 10lbs to be lost by Septmeber 1st.

Just set yourself realistic (but not too easy) goals, and try whatever works to get you there.

If you struggle getting breakfast down you, how about a banana as soon as you get up?

I love bananas but though they were heavy on fat.

I can't always face breakfast nd sometimes there is no time in the morning but rather than get home and get on and not eat until lunch I should eat then.I know I don't eat rubbish when I eat breakfast but I still seem to think missing meals will help me lose weight.

DH made me scrambled eggs this morning and a piece of oat bread and I am not hungry.

have salad and chicken for lunch and bought some cherry tomatoes for snacking on.

I appreciate the help, thank you.
