Someone linked to it 10 days ago for me (thankyouthankyouthankyou). I've inputted everything I've eaten in the last 2 weeks and all exercise (mostly housework) and I've lost 4.5lb just by recording what I eat.

I told it I wanted to lose 2lb a week to reach my goal weight (next February) and it calculated how much food I could have (1045 calories). I've eaten more when I've done exercise and inputted it too.

It was completely spot on!

I'm so happy I could skip round the room

Well done Laurie, although 1045? That's hardcore! Kudos to you.

I used to use FF too but at the end of the month they ran out of bandwidth or something all technical and you couldn't use it then read it was quite common with them. Have they fixed that do you know?

bamboobutton · 07/06/2010 08:13

i used FF for months and didn't lose a single pound.

congrats on your weight loss!!

Lauriefairycake · 07/06/2010 08:14

aaaah don't tell me that. Hasn't happened to me yet and it's working right now. Did you lose your stats??????

I've been having more food with exercise - one day of gardening and I got to eat 1400 - the exercise calories seemed overly generous but I decided to trust it and go with it (not easy for a control freak like me).

I've 5 stone to lose though and I find it really hard to shift weight (thyroid plus a touch of pcos) so even though to others 1045 calories isn't a lot and 4.5 lbs loss in two weeks isn't a lot considering the calorie consumption it's normal for me.

I've never been able to eat 2000 calories a day - I got overweight by eating an extra slice of toast a day every day for ten years.

bamboo - any idea why? would appreciate your input so I can know what not to do

i suspect it was my thyroid as my weight rocketed after having ds and strict dieting only slowed the weight gain.

didn't have time or energy with new baby to fight G.P to get a decent diagnoses. suspect i was just below the threshold for medicating.

MiaWallace · 07/06/2010 08:21

well done Laurie. You are right about the exercise calories being overly generous though.

When I used FF I used to use a heart rate monitor which calculated my calories burnt during exercise taking into account weight, height, gender and age. The FF exercise calories were always a lot higher than my monitor calculated.

Laurie, no it kept my settings and stuff with a bit of luck they've purchased more badnwitdh now as it's gotten so popular!

I use it too - its amazing sometimes when you put your calories in how quickly they add up!
