Have lost 6 lbs on a low carbish type diet- not atkins as such just watching bad carbs like white bread, cake, biccies etc.

However, after the day from hell, I have just demolished:

a caramal bar
a toffee muffin
a caramel doughnut
a caramel bsicuit
and a baileys liquery type chocolate

If I get back on the wagon immediately, should I be okay do you think, as I have heard nightmare stories of how quick weight goes back on after a slip up on these type of diets.

Please tell me the six pounds i have lost won't appear on my hips by tomorrow am!

You'll be OK. What might happen is as follows :
a. horrible hunger and cravings tomorrow
b. Water retention bumps you up a bit on the scales which might not be apparent for about 3 days.

My advice would be to get back on the wagon and stay off the scales for a week.

I am doing low carb too and went through a phase of not doing too well. I had a few weeks of staying the same and putting a lb back on but not loads and loads. You just need to get back on it straightaway and hopefully it won't do too much damage.

yes, best thing to do is stay away form the scales for a week and eat protein-heavy meals for a few days. You won't have put on 6lbs of fat - it will be water retention but best not to see the damage on the scales. Just ride it out and you'll be back where you were in a week.
