Depends on a lot - your current weight, current lifestyle, how much exercise you do, how active you are generally.

The Food Focus site is a good place to get a good idea.

rather than the normal 2000, try 1500.
Aim to be eating 400-500 for brekkie.

Disenchanted, stick to that and you'll soon be even more disenchanted. Have a look at this and you'll see why:

I've lost 5lbs in a week, I don't feel hungry (and when I do, I eat something) and I eat real food. For lunch I had a cheese omelette and salad followed by raspberries and blueberries with cream.

I'm not on commission, it just makes sense and it works!
