Wii Fit ... any good?

My dh and I are both trying to lose weight, after he was told in no uncertain terms by the doc to lose weight or else!

So I thought I would lose weight with him to benefit me and give him a little motivation too. But I think the doc has finally scared him enough to

Is the Wii fit any good? We have a Wii that is gathering dust, and heard good things about it, so is it worth forking out £50 for the balance board thing and the game?

I lost weight with Wii Fit. But I went on & bought EA Sports Active & More Workouts & also Biggest Loser for the Wii.

Of them all I would say Biggest Loser is the hardest & poss most effective. However, the EA Sports ones are more fun. But the band & leg strap can tear.

You don't really need the balance board for the EA & Biggest Loser stuff, I think for the Wii Fit you do really need it.

Please feel free to ask any further questions

I found the Wii Fit game really helpful getting into exercise gently after my c-section. If you are very unfit or not used to exercise it is a good place to start. I found that it made me a lot more conscious of my posture and feel it has improved as a result. I did find after about 3 months that some of the exercises were too easy however. I have now moved on to the 30 Day Shred interspersed with Davina and gym sessions. The Biggest Loser for the Wii is OK, but you have to have exercise trousers with pockets to play on it. I also found the balance board wasn't much cop with this game and would suggest that it is used without.

I have a few of those games and they're good - worth getting a variety IMHO or it gets boring. Just Dance, while not overtly for fitness, is great too!

They are not, however, a magic bullet by any means!

Go on Amazon for good deals on games they are so much cheaper than in the shops!
