What happens after doing the 7lbs in 7 days juice thing

I'm currently low carbing but the weight loss has stalled so am thinking of doing the juice fast to kick start my metabolism. I was wondering what happens afterwards though? Do you go back to eating what you did before or do you have to phase foods in? Has anyone put the weight back on as soon as you went back to your normal diet?

I'm going to presume '7lbs in 7 days juice thing' involves losing half a stone in a week, on a very low calorie diet.

In which case what will happen is this: you will gain 10lbs within a month.

I'm happy to phase foods in but as I have been low carbing wondering if eating this kind of food (ie high fat, med protein) would be a no-no. Does it have to be low fat?

hi bunjies

i've done this a couple of times and it is brilliant .. i've lost 7lb in 7 days, concave tummy, no hunger (unless you count mouth hunger - you know, just that desire to chew!!)

haven't put on weight after but there is a turbo-charge (I think??) plan that you are meant to follow ... for another 2-3 weeks I think. Lots of veg, brown rice, salmon and a couple of juices a day I think. I didn't follow as my diet, as you know, is very restricted anyway.

on the other hand, I have a friend whose normal diet is lots of carbs, red meat & choc. She has done the diet twice and then gone straight back to old diet so obv the effects have not lasted.

I think the general idea is that it should curb cravings - I definitely think that it works on this level to an extent but not on an emotional level, iyswim - and my friend is definitely an emotional eater, which is perhaps why she's not been so successful with it.

HTH. Good luck with it!! I have to say, when I do it I feel amazing. Energy through the roof.

Ta muchly Cake. I'd forgotten you'd mentioned having done this before. Happy to eat brown rice, veg etc as they're low GL which is all good.

Waiting for the book to arrive to have a good read through and then planning on starting as soon as I get the ingredients.

I've done this too and the results were really good. I only did it for 5 days and lost 5lbs. I didn't put the weight back on either.
I'd love to do it again but can't seem to gear up to it. I wish someone would just come and make the juices for me! (or I could just buy them ready made )
