It's my birthday on sunday and DH wants to know what to get me, I am tempted to say a bicycle. If i cycle for an hour three times a week and try and cut back on rubbish will I lose weight?

I think any exercise combined with cutting out rubbish will equal weight loss....

First time I cycled to work the journey was 11 miles with 3 big hills, Ended up pushing the bike up the steep bits and been overtaken by pensioners. However by the end of the week I had the stamina to get all the way there non stop and left the oldies in my dust, It's a great way to get fit and will help burn off whatever you eat, I'm talking in retrospect, The bike is gathering dust in the shed as I've changed jobs and drive to work now, Bout time I dug it out and dusted it off

Yes you will feel fitter thinner and better by cycling regularly. As per LewisesDad my cycling hasnt been extensive of late but I did go out on my bike last week and it felt great to be out there in the fresh air exercising. Go for it.
