God, that is the worst title. Apologies.

So, I'm trying to lose weight by eating sensibly. Thought that if we start a thread listing what we eat each day. it might make us more aware of intake... I tend to eat without thinking so I'm told this will help.

Breakfast: Oatibix bitesize with sultana and apple (they are very sugary )

Lunch: Noodles with onions and mushrooms.

Dinner: mixed salad, a ham sandwich.

Snacks: an apple and the tiny bit of cake my ds left on his plate...

Yesterday I slipped a bit.
B- Porridge & honey, coffee
S- Bowl of benefit With low fat milk
L- 10 brazil nuts, a small lump of cheese, peppermint tea, small lump of pepperoni, finished baby's lunch of pasta, cheese and peas, 4 squares of choc.
D- Bacon, cabbage & mash
S - tea, 4 squares choc, small glass of wine.

OTOH I did go to the gym...

Everyone is doing really well on this thread.

I too feel like I have more energy. Am not missing my highcarb diet as much as I thought. Definitely wouldn't be able to do no-carb though.

BessieBoots · 21/05/2010 17:42

I am baking a rhubarb cake. This is because
a) I want cake;
b) It has no butter in it, so I can pretend it's not so bad, and
c) I want cake.

Whyyyyyyyyyy?!

Another fairly good day today....

B - fruit and fibre with porridge oats

L - 3 ryvita's, small piece of cheese, blueberries and a banana

D - seafood salad with spinach, beetroot, grapes, a boiled egg, spring onion, tomato, coleslaw and cottage cheese...and it was yum! Pudding was blackberries, blueberries and a couple of tablespoons of organic wholemeal strawberry yog.

Let's hope all that is healthy.....

Haven't drunk as much water today - have been too busy and I feel very dehydrated tonight...

msboogie · 21/05/2010 20:10

blimey whispywisp your dinner sounds lovely!

wukter bacon cabbage and mash? you must be Irish?

I had bacon and cabbage for the first time in around 15 years a couple of months back. Had no mash though

I have been insanely good today:

breakfast: piece of cheddar cheese
lunch: 3 slices of ham
dinner : red pepper, asparagus and mushroom frittata

HOWEVER I am just about to feck the whole day up by drinking copious volumes of vino!!

alypaly · 21/05/2010 20:17

bessieboots - your day sounds delish!

msboogie...yes my tea was gorgeous esp as I was sooo hungry!

alypaly - yea, I like baking too - I've got to find some lower calorie cake ideas to make cos most of mine contain far too much sugar/butter/fruit...

I'm planning on going down to the beach tomorrow - not to be a beach bum but there's a stretch of beach that is really popular for crabbing...and there is an excellent fresh fish shop on the harbour...and they do variety packs of fish so thought I'd go down and buy a load and deep-freeze it...I've eaten fish pretty much every day this week - love it and so low calorie too.

janajos · 22/05/2010 07:46

Hi Bessieboots, Licorice tea is fantastic it is a yogi tea, you can buy it from Sainsburys and Health Food Stores, it tastes strongly of sweet aniseed with a really full flavour, so you don't need a biscuit with it!! It is 0 calories to boot.....

I have started my day with a slice of wholemeal toast and 1tsp peanut butter. Washing it down with a cup of delicious, fresh brewed coffee.

janajos · 22/05/2010 07:49

Happy to race you BessieBoots. Can I ask advice of all re a formal

BessieBoots · 22/05/2010 08:45

Janajos, I'd have imagined it was dress as you'd dress at the races iykwim- a dress (not cocktail) perhaps?

By the way, my rhubarb cake is lovely. Too lovely. Gah.

whispywhisp · 22/05/2010 09:58

liquorice tea?.....sounds interesting....but I can't buy a box of it and then find I hate it! Maybe I can find a selection box of different teas to try and that one will be included...

I drink decaff green tea...its lovely. Green tea on its own is ok but the decaff version is very nice.

So today, so far its been muesli with grapes.

Tonight is chicken with veg.

Not sure about midday ...but prob fruit.

Got a moody DH on my hands today...that'd usually drive me to the biscuits but I'm determined not to let that happen! If people/life get me down thats when I go off the rails....

BessieBoots · 23/05/2010 16:08

I am not listing yesterday's intake, I'm too ashamed.

OP posts:
msboogie · 23/05/2010 19:33

well... my food intake was fine... its the alcohol is the cause of my shame today

breakfast: cold frittata
lunch:lamb and veg skewers (lge glass of wine)
dinner: lasagna made with courgette strips instead of pasta (half a bottle of white and half a bottle of red)

have had 2, maybe three bottles of wine since Friday..

alypaly · 24/05/2010 00:50

is there any such thing as a low calorie cake with oodles of butter cream Havent made any for a week....on withdrawal symptoms.

Mind you my diet this weekend consisted of
B ...2 slices fruit bread andlashingsofbutter
L whole pizza and salad
snack...choc bic
D 1 pork chop,1 sausage,1 beef burger,
new potatoes in garlic butter, roasted mixed veg, salsa, pasta with pine nuts and pesto. and 3 glasses of wine.
Thats too much isnt it?
but it was BBQ'd meat...does that count

alypaly · 24/05/2010 00:52

will weigh in tomorrow she said shamefacedly

BessieBoots · 24/05/2010 09:19

Yesterday was
b- 2 slices of toast and peanut butter
l- ham and cheese baguette
d- turkey steaks with mango and avocado salsa, with a hunk of home-made olive and rosemary bread.

According to the bastard scales, the 3 pounds I lost last week are now back on.

OP posts:
msboogie · 24/05/2010 11:38

even if you are not low carbing you should try to avoid eating fat and carbs together if you can...

I have out 2lbs on over the weekend....

wukter · 25/05/2010 18:26
