God, that is the worst title. Apologies.

So, I'm trying to lose weight by eating sensibly. Thought that if we start a thread listing what we eat each day. it might make us more aware of intake... I tend to eat without thinking so I'm told this will help.

Breakfast: Oatibix bitesize with sultana and apple (they are very sugary )

Lunch: Noodles with onions and mushrooms.

Dinner: mixed salad, a ham sandwich.

Snacks: an apple and the tiny bit of cake my ds left on his plate...

wow manda that is brilliant going! Do you really need to lose another stone? at 6 ft you must have BMI well below 25 already.

I gave myself 3 months to lose 2 stone before this wedding - only one month and 11lbs left!

I think this food listing is a good idea - my main problem was over sized portions with far too many carbs - eating v low carbs means I never eat large portions anymore and never leave the table feeling full.

I stuck to my plan for today and even though I was dying for glass of wine after a hard day at work I decided against it - good me!

Manda25 · 15/05/2010 00:08

On the wii my bmi is too high if i am over 12.7lb...not really sure how all that works ...and i also forgot to add on the wine i drink ...i have a glass or two a night (red) i love wine more then food ... when i was fat - i would look and think 'oh im fat' now i know i am slimmer ...but i still look and thing i should get toned !...i wonder if i will ever be happy

wukter · 15/05/2010 09:54

Yesterday

B Porridge with honey, coffee.
S One of those "natural" maple syrup flavoured flapjacks.
L Gloopy salmon in gloopy sauce, roast & mash pots & watery veg at horrible carvery.
S Apple
D Grilled steak with veg & salad in pitta with youghurt. Tea, 2 x biscuits, half a Mars Bar.

Not too bad really, except for the flapjacks.

I know what you mean Manda, I think the tiniest flaws get totally out of proportion to us.

Hello ladies, can I join in?

Am also low-carbing and had lost a stone and a half, but took a break from it while staying with friends for 10 days and set myself back by half a stone. Am back on track now but have slightly lost my motivation.

Today I had a slice of ham with cream cheese as an early breakfast, then bacon and eggs with DH. Lunch was spinach salad with smoked mackerel, red onion and cherry tomatoes. Just had some cheese. Tonight will be chicken breasts stuffed with pesto and mozzarella and wrapped in parma ham, with fried courgettes.

Wukter - 3 months! It will pass in a flash

msboogie · 15/05/2010 15:37

thereistheball your diet sounds very similar to mine.

today so far

breakfast: 3 black coffees (early hair appointment so no time to cook)

lunch: whole packet of shredded duck from marks and spencer deli range

dinner : will be homemade chicken jalfrezi with green peppers and "rice" made out of blitzed and fried cauliflower (which is actually nicer than you'd imagine)

whispywhisp · 15/05/2010 17:42

Today has been...

Muesli for breakfast with extra porridge oats thrown in...because no time for lunch (working)...and tea has been one grilled sausage, steamed veg (carrots, broccoli and green beans) with two wholemeal crispbreads.

Havent had time to drink my usual stash of water and I do feel as though I've not drunk a lot...weird how a body gets used to getting a lot of fluid?

Am now peckish so the fruit bowl is going to get a visit I think......

I worked today for a lady who always has a good few dozen packets of biscuits (I work as a carer)...and she was trying to force feed me with these huge chunky Cadbury chocolate biscuits...I resisted, somehow.

msboogie · 15/05/2010 20:49

well done done you in resisting the evil biccies

I found after a while that I could look at cakes and biccies without feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't have any. I can have some some day

just not today!

Squidmission · 15/05/2010 21:49

Yes please!

From tomorrow though as I've been rubbish today.

Doing a food diary really helps me stay in control.

msboogie · 16/05/2010 09:31

confession time!!

last night I had a vodka or two and, will power thus weakened, I ate about half a dozen Thornton's chocs

I will have to eat nowt but protein all flippin' week now.

the weekend is always my downfall...

yesterday's revised list then:

breakfast: black coffee
lunch: shredded duck
dinner chicken jalfrezi with cauliflower rice

ahem

later: vodka, chocolate

BessieBoots · 16/05/2010 14:36

I've been crap today- visitors. 3 biscuits and half a bag of skips...

Yesterday was
B- oatibix
L- bacon, brie and cranberry sandwich- yes, yes I know...
D- greek salad with two slices soda bread.
Fruit as a snack.

OP posts:
wukter · 16/05/2010 20:20

God yesterday was A DISASTER.
B - Benefit w low fat milk (Aldi version of Special k) Coffee
S - Banana, fennel tea, 4 brazil nuts
L - Tuna steak, noodles & mango salsa
Tea & biscuit.
S - Apple, fennel tea
D - mushroom, leek, and cheese omelette.

AND THE BLOODY KILLER

Another dinner in the pub with some friends and 4 wines. Dinner was chicken, chips and salad but I ate only a couple of chips. Go, me.
Then like you MrsBoogie, willpower even further eroded, fun sized choc bar.

FGS. Never mind. This week will be different.

That's a good wasy of looking at it, the "not today" strategy.

BessieBoots · 17/05/2010 09:33

Right. I veered seriously off track yesterday, and am here to atone!

B- Oatibix
L- Ham sandwich with greek salad
Snacks- 3 foxes biscuits, and half a packet of skips. Fruit.
D- Thai mackerel fishcakes with couscous and asparagus... and eton mess for pudding

I've got mt dad staying, you see, and always feel the need to feed him up...

OP posts:
msboogie · 17/05/2010 10:31

aye, me too

breakfast : bacon and sausages
lunch: breakfast
dinner: roast fillet of pork with red peppers and green veg

2 glasses of red wine

2 vodkas

3 thorntons chocs

I can feel it piling back on as we speak

BessieBoots · 17/05/2010 11:20

BUT msboogie, on the bright side, I would usually think, "well, I've buggered up the diet now, might as well stuff my face even more" but I'm back on the straight and narrow today because I want to write good things on this thread! Mind you, Dad is staying tonight too, so I'll have to make some sort of dessert...

OP posts:
msboogie · 17/05/2010 11:36

haha bessieboots I am back on the straight and narrow too today

how about pudding made from clotted cream or thick double cream and some nice berries?

actually fairly low carb that one. I'm keeping it in reserve...

whispywhisp · 17/05/2010 12:56

Another (hopefully it'll end up this way) good day today, so far...

B - fruit & fibre cereal with a handful of porridge oats on top

L - Apple, orange and a hot choc (40 cal one)

T - boiled egg, salad bowl and lots of fresh fruit

...so far so good. And yes, I weighed myself today and yes I've lost 3lb in just under a week, so something must be working?

BessieBoots · 17/05/2010 13:48

Well done whispywisp! I lost 3lb in 6 days too, which tells you something about my chocolate scoffing before...

msboogie, that sounds nice, but a lot like the eton mess I made last night, which was double cream, strawberries and crunched up meringues. I had been doing some heavy duty gardening though, so maybe about half a mouthful had been burned off...

OP posts:
darcymum · 17/05/2010 13:54

Ooooh, I wish I hadn't just had that bit of cake!

Coco pops (I know)
Egg sandwich
Apple cake

notasize10yetbutoneday · 17/05/2010 15:17

Back on the wagon after a weekend blow out- well, not blow out, but not low-carb or low fat either!

b: rice krispies and milk
s: 2 x mini babybels
l: chicken soup, fresh pineapple, 2 kiwis
s: apple
d:smoked salmon and spinach quiche (crustless) and salad

Have also been having honey and lemon as have a really bad sore throat- how calorific is honey? Should I be worried?

thereistheball · 17/05/2010 15:59

Gah. Was doing really well: scrambled eggs with a sundried tomato; bacon, avocado, tomato and cheese for lunch; then two chocolate ginger biscuits. Going to have a big glass of water now then fiddle about with supper a bit (which is shredded spicy pork on lettuce with sour cream and lime juice).

notasize10yetbutoneday · 17/05/2010 16:07

ooh your dinner sounds nice Thereishteball. Could I have a rough recipe for the shredded spicy pork please?

Manda25 · 17/05/2010 16:16

notasizeten honey is just pure sugar.

whispywhisp · 17/05/2010 19:00

Hi all.....hope everyone is ok? I'm feeling really tired at mo - just wondering if its possible to have carb-withdrawal? I used to eat a fair bit of bread and potatoes...now I don't and haven't done for quite a few days?

msboogie · 17/05/2010 19:27

whispywisp - It is possible - one you get into ketosis though you will feel great

are you eating enough calories and drinking enough water?
