Toning belts/Slendertone - Has anyone tried them?

A friend mentioned toning belts today, thinking they sound like an easy way to tone up.

I am doing as much exercise as possible to try and lose weight, including DVDs (Davina/clare from Steps) and running (slowly!).

Has anybody tried them? If so, are they as effective as press ups/sit ups, etc?

GT: they do tone you up but they don't make you fit - best for that as I'm sure you already know is exercise & a healthy diet - for a toning DVD try Jillian Micheals "30 Day Shred" (cheap on EBAY) it really works & is only 20 mins long - I saw a difference after 15 days on it

Thanks for your reply Joby.

I did get the 30 Day Shred a while ago, but hurt my back somehow doing it, but I have just done day 1 again, and joined the thread!

Those toning belts look expensive, but I just wondered if they're too good to be true it does appeal though - the thought of lying on the sofa getting toned!

I lost a few inches from around my waist and dropped a dress size when I used my Slendertone after DS1 was born.

I tried it after the birth of DS2 and noticed more definition in my waist, but the results weren't as dramatic as the first time around. I paid for a few sessions of the Arasys inchloss system and found that toned a bit, but I didn't drop a dress size like the advert said.

So, to sum up- yes it will work if you're in need of toning and will work quicker than sit ups, but probably won't be too dramatic a change.

Am off to look on amazon for this shred DVD!
