Hi

No but am currently on day 4 of Juice Diet!

It comes highly recommeneded by MNers who kept weight off.

Its my first ever diet as was slim before DD and I did some research on MN as to what people had tried and what seemed to work.

the 7 day juice diet by jason vale was a firm favourite and it seems that those who've done it has kept up the good work and kept weight off.

Obviously its going to take more than just 7 days for it all to disappear but I needed a massive kick up the a*se and something which seemed short term ie a week so that I didn't become demotivated.

Apparently it helps to reset your appetite so not only do you lose around 7lbs in a week but you then don't want to eat massive portions after.

Anyway its not the answer to your question but just another suggestions so I'll go away.

Thanks I'll look that up as well! It's nearly two weeks since my section I can't exercise yet so I need to get my butt in gear with dieting! I've not steppes on scales yet a bit scared to I suspect I'll have about 4 stone to lose :-(

Butterscotch,

I've only just started and am almost 10 months since section!!!! And yes have almost 3st to lose.

Pregnancys most unwanted gift - extra lard.

Wasn't really prepared for that TBH.

Am on day 6 on juice diet and good so far.

Will come back and let you know whether its worked even a bit.

Are you BFing?? I did for 6 months and a little weight was lost but it just made me so so hungry and I just couldn't diet. Perhaps I'm just weakwilled

Juice diet??

Still overweight and DS is nearly four...

Juice diet is the Lose 7 Pounds in 7 days by Jason vale.

Its not, despite title, a quick fix crash diet but about reeducating your body for smaller portion sizes and removing cravings for junk.

Must say that I'm on day 6 and no cravings for junk or otherwise so far and not hungry on juices/smoothies. Its all tasty stuff.

Part of the point is that its a 7 day kick up the ar*e to get you started on a healthier lifestyle and remove the worst of the overeating and cravings as well as apparently most people lose 7 pounds in 7 days.

Not weighed myself yet so don't know about the 7 pounds thing but will come back and let you know.

Sticking to something for a week isn't hard as its only a week whereas longer term diets etc sound hard and make you want to give up as there is no immediately light at the end of the tunnel. And once you've done the 7 days you're supposed to have reset your appetite for smaller portions and not have the cravings.

Quite a lot of MNer hev been doing this one and it seems everyone has always done well and its been a step towards long term healthier eating and weightloss.

Hence, diet-novice here, was right on that as a 7 day thing doesn't sound so scary.

Anyway whether it will really work long term for me is yet to be seen so keeping fingers crossed.

Only one slight pain is cleaning up after making juices but actually its a small effort when you think about it.

Silly question- but are there any juices that don't need a juicing machine?

I too have a lots of baby weight to lose. I've 2.5 stones that needs to go. I've lost 10lbs already but am on a plateau- keep on losing and gaining the same 1lb.

I'm getting a bit demoralised and I don't even look thinner yet.

I've the weight of 2 babies to lose- 1 whose 5 and 1 whose almost 8 months!

sleepysox · 15/05/2010 09:28

butterscotch- I've just looked up the link and it does look good! I'd be a bit worried that all the recipes/ diet info would be using cup measurements or foods we don't have in the UK though.

If you do decide to buy it, would you mind posting your feedback here?

Hi,

Completed the 7 day juice thing and did indeed lose 7lbs so happy with that. Also lost an inch of waist, hips and bust.

Am carrying on with the Jason Vale Turbo Charge your life in 14 days. Involves juice/smoothie at breakfast, salad or soup of rlunch and salad or soup for dinner based on his principles.

The juice thing wasn't hard to complete and despite the fact you're meant to do at least an hours worth of exercise every day and I did almost none, I still lost 7lbs.

Shame that I've still got about 30lbs to go.....

Unfortuntely you do need to have both a juicer and a blender. I already had both hence no issue.

Anyway thumbs up for juicing so far. Will come back and let you know how go from now.

chocolatestar · 15/05/2010 19:43

How much did you have to pay?

sleepysox · 15/05/2010 20:20

Shame I haven't got a juicer

butterscotch · 15/05/2010 23:21

I don't have a juicer (bit lazy as I would hate to clean one!)

Sleepysox of course I'll come back I'm worried it looks a bit too good to be true????

Juicer and blender were bought years and years ago so can't rememeber.

Saw other MN threads on 7 day juice thing and most bought juices from high st/argos for £30 and blenders even cheaper.

Anyway I had kit hence going for it wasn't a financial/investment decision.

TBH if I didn't have the juicer, I might have thought twice about shelling out for a juicer.

Will let you know how I get on with 14 day programme which I'm on now.

Bit worried it will not work as well because you're supposed to do an hours exercise before breakfast and with a 9 month old DD this isn't possible so have moved exercise to after dinner instead.
