Weight Watchers motivation

Hi. I'm a WW and weight-loss newbie since this is the only time I've really dieted with any focus. I've lost 4 stone 11 lbs since September. I've got 20 lbs to go but it's now coming off really slowly; only 1/2 a pound week for the last three weeks. Can I expect this to be my pattern now or is this just a blip? According to the website, I should be losing between 1 and 3 pounds per week. Please help keep me motivated!

Well done on your weight loss Lina!

IMO 1/2lb per week consistently is good, any loss is going in the right direction. How many points do you have per day?

I've lost 1 stone 5lbs since January, sometimes I've stayed the same and lost 1/2 lb other weeks, but I've found that exercise makes all the difference, and lose more when I fit it in.

Do you manage to exercise?

LinaLamont, it is possible that you could be having a natural slow down in your weight loss. But it is possibly down to just slipping here and there. Remember back to when you started. Are you weighing and maesuring absolutely everything? Are you tracking absolutely everything? Pretend it's your first week again and be really strict.

(Ex WW leader here)

Well done with your loss so far, and you will get there.

Thanks for the replies. Gettintrimmer - I don't excercise and was hoping not to have to but I'm thinking of walking with the buggy more! Eglu, I wondered if I'd slipped a bit so this week I'm doing exactly what you suggest. I'm in a bit of a rut food wise too so I'm going to change the kinds of foods I'm eating. Did you find that people all hit a natural slow? I've been dreading the dreaded plateau that everyone mentions and hoped that it's a myth! I don't want to get disheartened and head for the chocolate!

Google The Wendy Plan and see if that helps you...

I think it is difficult to know if people are hitting a ntural slow. I think in most cases it is down to not being as strict with the plan. Getting out and walking more will help, building up the exercise will keep the weight coming off.

Also food rut is not good, so do switch things around and try new recipes etc.

well done on loss so far, thats fab!!!

have you reduced your points? even 1 or 2 less a day makes 7/14 so a big difference

also make sure that portion sizes are right and you havent got slack

but yes some do reach a plateux and then start again

are you still writing down everything in your tracker and weighing and drinking lots of water. Go back and read all the books and make sure you are at the right points level too, try and cut out as much salt as possible. Hope this helps
