Apparently I am going for a 3 mile run on Saturday afternoon.

I told my sister that my friend was aiming to run at least 5 miles in the Race for Life and we should try and do it next year, as this year won't leave us enough time to train. She told me she could already run 5 miles.

I pointed out that a walk around the local park is only 2.8 miles and she couldn't run that.

Somehow this ended with me agreeing that we shall run around the park at least three times a week, starting from Saturday.

I detest running.

No one cares that my sister is trying to kill me then?

Are you a complete beginner? I think I've just worked up to running about that distance!

I love running. You will be fine. Take it slowly and before you know it you'll be chomping at the bit to get out for a run.

Yes GettinTrimmer. An absolute, utter beginner. Even when I was fit and attending aerobics/swimming etc almost daily I still hated running.

I am now very unfit. And my hatred of running has been upgraded to loathing.

You'll feel great when you've done it!

Hasn't your sister got anybody else to run with if it's not your thing?

All the articles I have read on running suggest that if you are a begginer you should run for 30 secs - walk for a minute & so on & build it up.
