Writing this for a friend, who has poor self image, low esteem and comfort eats fatty/sweet/dairy foods. Is probably a few stone overweight, and not enjoying life at all. How can I help? Any diets really good? Looked in Waterstones today for a book, too many! Needs to be food that is satisfying/hearty and filling, no points/complicated programmes, and no need to go to meetings.
Please share your wisdom!

PS anyone had counseling/hypnosis to deal with low-self esteem? Would love to know if it works.

Thanks in advance

You can't do it for her I'm afraid. The only way she'll lose weight it when she has her own light bulb moment and decides enough is enough.
And fwiw, I would be mortified if my friend, or anyone else for that matter, went shopping and bought me a diet book.
BUT if it is in fact you who needs help, rather than a 'friend' I am more than happy to help

Did she ask you for help?

If so, point her in the direction of slimming world/ weight watchers or something which will help.

If in fact she's emotional eating then she needs to get to the root of the problem rather than dancing round it.
