eat no carbs - only protein - meat and eggs and drink LOTS of water

unless yu have kidney problems or other medical isuues this should be fine

look up the Dukan diet - that'll shift a few pounds off you

Look up Anna Richardsons body blitz - designed for just 2 weeks. No carbs after 6pm, no wheat, dairy, booze or sugar. Obv not a long term plan but it is a good kick start and does work. I felt less bloated after a day and my skin also cleared up as a result of the masses of fruit, veg and fish I was eating!

Hi, probably not the best way to loose weight.. massive loses in a short time!! After your crash diet you may/will actually gain weight when you return to normal eating!! And a massive reduction in calorie intake (if no resistance training i.e: weights!) you will lose muscle mass!! And not FAT... which is, i presume your aim!! Look to loose only 1-2 pounds a week. A system i use which works for my lifestyle is to incorporate a 24hr fasting once or twice aweek and try to eat healthy all other times!! the fasting consists of water/black coffee/sugar free gum..only, nothing else!! best to eat one lunchtime then wait untill lunch the next day!! But dont gorge yourself!! its not as bad as it sounds... some great scientific evidence on how fasting is ok!! check it out online!! What it does is create a (weekly) calorie deficit (needed to actually loose wieght) in one hit.. instead of crazy low carb, low fat diets..that no-one likes!!Its only recently have we all started to eat 3 large meals a day!! But and its a big but... you must do someform of wieght training... push-ups,squats,(use your muscles) min of twice a week (.5 hr sess is ok) any diet (restricted calories) will effect your muscles (eat them)... surely the point is... not to loose wieght but to loose fat!! This system fits into our hectic lifestyles, isnt restrictive on what you eat, most diets are impossible to complete or use... this fits in with no bother... good luck on whatever you decide!! If anyone reading this is interested i can explain more in greater detail.. pls contact if interested!! it works!! ive lost 22lbs without dieting!!!

wilsh, I am very confused, how exactly is starving yourself for 24 hours healthier than low carbing, which is perfectly possible, means I am losing weight while still getting all my necessary nutrients etc.

I agree with low carbing, especially if you eat a lot to start with, the first week you will lose a lot and can then start maintaining weight loss.

darkandstormy · 29/04/2010 17:15

jack baur I agree with the low carbing,if I think back to my skinnier youth I used to hate bread and pots etc and struggled to maintain even the lowest bmi of 18.I need to recapture that natural loathing of buttery mash, that is where the problem sadly lies.

I am interested, plesae can you explain in greater detail?
