no carbs after 6 question - can I have pulses?

Trying to do no carbs after 6 but want to be clear - is it best to avoid pulses or is it just starchy carbs? I love a good bean salad so just trying to work out whether to have it regularly for lunch or dinner.

THanks

i dont see what difference eating carbs part the day and not is going to make tbh, it just seems like a waste of time and with much love i use this analogy, either piss in the pot or get off

Pulses are a starchy carbohydrate and also a plant protein. Similar to nuts, seeds, quinoa and other wholegrains. Excellent nutritional properties, highly versatile and, provided you limit the portion-size to keep you within your daily calorie target, will not stand in the way of weight-loss.

There is no real benefit to eating 'no carbs after 6' unless you were previously in the habit of downing a tub of ice-cream and a sack of Doritos on a nightly basis.

Enjoy your bean salad.

well I can put away a shitload of rice/pasta so I'm pretty sure that cutting out carbs in the eve will save me a few calories and force me to eat a bigger variety of veg. I absolutely love to eat so taking one step towards eating better has got to be a good thing no?

cheers for the info chil

it worked for this lady apparently & if it's good enough for Elle Macpherson!! Was talking to a superslim friend of mine the other day who said she eats no carbs at all, which I think would kill me but am definitely willing to give no carbs after 6pm a go (attempting to lose 2 stone of baby weight) Good luck titfer!!

Squidmission · 26/04/2010 21:12

It does work!
It may be just another way of restricting calories, but it definitely does work.

I've been doing it for a couple of weeks, along with exercising and there is a really noticable change.

I actually cut off at 4pm after a fruit and yogurt snack.

Good luck

If she's eating no carbs at all then that means absolutely no fruit, veg or salad - surely that can't be true?!

Tortington · 27/04/2010 13:55

yeah not seeing how you could survive on no carbs at all

3billygoatsgruff · 27/04/2010 20:17

Hmmm I think maybe she meant she's eating low carb foods e.g. no pasta, bread etc. I saw her eating salad ...and maybe a bit of dust as well!

BecauseImWorthIt · 27/04/2010 20:31

Noooooooooo! Too many carbs in dust!

I lost about 7pounds doing this just after Christmas,I found myself going to bed early with a cup of herbal tea,bit of a dull one.I am aiming for the 80/20 rule, my other nights being wine and crisp fuelled.
