It is starting to really upset me.

I keep a log of food that I eat quite often and it usually works out between 1500 and 2000 calories a day.
I do loads of walking.
I have just weighed myself and I have put on 4 lbs this week.
typical example of food intake yesterday I ate
2 x poached egg on toast, no butter
marmite rice cakes
apple
prawn sandwich and a bag of snaps.
2 x satsumas
sweet and sour quorn with rice. no fat.
am I missing something essential, am I eating too much protein or something, I honestly no longer understand this and I need to do s9omething about it before it gets out of hand.

Any chance you are pregnant?
Water retention?

I've recently discovered I can't eat refined carbs - and it's made the world of difference to me. I used to be the same as you - putting on weight while only eating a very controlled amount and doing masses of exercise.

Your day looks a little carb heavy - have you tried changing the type of food you eat?

ADuckCalledBill · 23/04/2010 07:07

Could you take your food log with you and see a nutritionist. Sometimes things you don't expect can cause you to put on weight. I have to say that as someone who has struggled with her weight for years now so knows a good days eating that seems ok to me. If the prawn sandwich is shop bought it might have hidden calories and the sweet and sour sauce could contain alot of sugar but that's all I can think of. Hopefully someone more helpful will come along soon Good Luck!

your calories in must be greater than the calories you are burning

ditavionteased · 23/04/2010 07:11

cheers, definatly not pregnant, think I probably do eat too many carbs, prawn sandwich was shop bought, sweet and sour was a small jar of sharwoods.
maybe I should look at reducing refined carbs.

have you had your thyroid checked? or could it be water retention?

tartyhighheels · 23/04/2010 07:45

like bruffin says, get your thyroid checked

malovitt · 23/04/2010 07:52

Do you eat many vegetables?

ditavionteased · 23/04/2010 07:54
