Have just weighed myself and the damage is 13st 10..... at 5ft 4 this is not good. I am about to do my first session on 30 day shred and am going to combine it with healthy eating and trying to use the car less. I want to get down to around the 10 1/2 stone mark as I was this before having kids and was happy and felt good about the way I looked.
Would be nice to be a bit slimmer this summer and be able to buy some nice clothes.

I have given myself my first mile stone of 6/7 weeks when its the childrens birthday and we will be having a big family party. It would be nice to have lost a few lbs and to have the confidence to buy a dress.

So anyone out there who is trying to lose some weight and wants to join me is very welcome.... if not im going to keep on rambling on on my own so tht I can look back at my progress and hopefully it will help other people who are in the same boat!

Ok........here goes! wish me luck!

Good luck - I havnt weighed myself in months but know im really heavy actually...(runs off to weigh herself)14 stone and half and 5 ft 7 think im going to go and drown myself in chocolate - oh hang on wasn't this awful cycle how i got here in the first place ... positive thinkin.

Umm the bigger you are the more you lose??! good luck - ill be glad to join your club!! As long as you can put up with my ramblings!

spookycharlotte121 · 18/04/2010 22:05

Yay.... welcome omydarlin!!!
We can keep one another motivated and on the road to sucess!!!
Your in good company as Im a very skilled rambler too!

Well I just did day 1, level 1 of "30 day shred" and I believe i have just had a glmips of hell!!! It was bloody torture so god knows what level 3 is like.
Not to put you off though... as your doing it you can feel it tightening everything up and you really work up a sweat which has got to be good for the old ticker! Am actually shaking though! Just shows how out of shape I am! Hopefully this will be my key to sucesss..... I dont know what my neighbours below must have though as there were jumping jacks and skipping exercises so I was bouncing about all over the place. I think tomorrows installment better be in the day when dd has her nap!

So do you have a target weight you would like to reach?

I look like an elephant at the mo.... there are stetch marks and rolls of fat everywhere and I weigh more now than I did at full term pregnancy!

Anywho we are on the right track! Enough rambling from me!

well i managed to get to under 11st a 3 years back . I have just been googling 30 day shred - thought it was like the special K diet - how wrong I was !! i am starting on the healthy eating plan straightaway and have just ordered the dvd am kacking myself tbh. Plan is to do it 6 days a week at 7 am - Dd gets up at 7.30 am so hopefully will be able to fit in . I have a stepper gathering dust in the dining room which I havent used since it got bought for me for xmas so will do that a couple of times a week too. will also measure myself.. my target is my supposed graduation in July and holiday to Algarve also a close friend is having a birthday party in November quite close to mine and i want to look stunning !

Any tips for the 30 day shred ??

omydarlin · 20/04/2010 19:59

simmo39 · 20/04/2010 21:31

Can I please join? I am 12 weeks into my diet and have so far lost 37 lb, still have another 50 plus to go so need lots of support too please
II have been doing the Davina DVD and trying to get out for a run as often as I can too.
Good luck with the 30 day shred sounds really hard!

just wanted to appologise for disapearing. got admitted to hosp the following day with abdominal pain which turned out to be an ectopic pregnancy. Cant do any exercise for a few weeks but Im going to carry on eating a healthy diet as I have lost 7lbs from being ill.... has given me a kick start.

Am also walking ds to nursery to get some gentle exercise whilst i recover. if you both still want to carry on supporting one another then that would be great

hope you are both doing well. and sorry again for not posting sooner.

spookycharlotte - oh you poor thing how awful. Make sure you take it easy and don't overdo it. Hope you are recovering mentally aswell as physically.

omydarlin - did your DVD arrive? Have you started it yet? Mine arrived today, it is still in cellophane I am a bit scared tbh. I am going to start tomorrow, probably won't be able to walk properly on Friday or sit on the loo without wincing! Ha! Ha!

Have stuck ridgedly this week to my GoLower diet so have got to have a good loss this week (fingers crossed)....

omydarlin · 06/05/2010 20:11

spookycharlotte i'm so sorry and i hope you are ok and getting the support you need. I think the walking is a great idea justgetting out and about can make all the difference to your mood and feelings.

I have started the 30day shred on day 7 ish have had about 5 days off though - have definitely lost an inch or so but the most liberating thing is just not obsessing about eating packets of biscuits so much - i'm beginning to think this may have been what was missing from my previous weight losses the focus is more about getting stronger , fitter etc not so much about burning calories.

was very sore after day two though i could hardly walk

but think i'm addicted THANK YOU SPOOKYCHARLOTTE for starting this thread!

Simmo ive no idea what golower is but you must have done some good by sticking to it this week if only for your piece of mind!

simmo39 · 06/05/2010 21:29

Had a good eating day today and have done lots of walking but still haven't started shred. Got AF this morning and felt so rough and bloated, last thing I wanted to do was jump around! I know exercise helps which is why I did a lot of walking today, but squats and all sorts really didn't appeal (well thats my exuse).

I must start it tomorrow, we go on holiday in just over 2 weeks and I need to try and tone if I can. Am hoping I can shift another 6 lb by then.

omydarlin - sorry for confusion, GoLower is the name of the company I am dieting with. They deliver my food to me every 2 weeks. It is a LC, low GI and GL diet and so far it is working really well. Well done on losing inches, that is great and I will have to measure myself tomorrow before I start the shred..

spookycharlotte121 · 07/05/2010 10:02

Wow Omydarlin thats really good that you have seen visible results so quickly.

Im going to have another week of rest then start gentle exercise on one of my dvds and hopefully I will be dropping a dress size

OP posts:
omydarlin · 07/05/2010 10:24

Do you know im not sure what my size is I think im a good 16 top 18 bottom but i still fit in to some 14s on top. GAh stoopid shops and their sizing!! I have half shredded this morning will do some more tonight and when this is all over i promise will post my results and before after pics.

simmo39 · 09/05/2010 17:53

Yeh! Lost 4 lb when I weighed in on Friday. I am relieved as last week was not so good, it has given me a real boost. Just half a pound off 11 stone. I can just squeeze into a size fourteen, and 16 is definitely too big now. I am probably a size 15! Gonna stick with leggings at the moment and hold out on new jeans until I can get into a 12.

Am going to day 3 of my shred later. Must measure myself aswell to keep a track of inch loss.

Spookycharlotte - how you feeling?
