My Juicy weight loss journey

Today I started the 7lb in 7 days weight loss programme by Jason Vale. I have done it before and loss nearly 20lb and kept it off for two years. However, due to a number of events, I turned to emotional eating and piled on weight.

I am now 11stone and 9lb and eventually want to reach 9stone and 10lb. So a long road ahead.

I want to kick start my regime by following the juice diet because I enjoyed it first time round and the fast weight loss really motivated me to keep going. I am increasing my fitness activities too so this morning I did the Ultimate Challenge DVD by Nell McAndrew. Monday to Friday, I will be doing the 30 day Shred DVD before I get ready for work.

So here I go. I will try and post every day for the next 7 days to let you know how I am getting on and with any luck, I will lose 7lb or more. Last time I lost 8lb in 7 days and within 6 weeks, 18lb altogether so I know it works.

I get a headache day 2 but it goes by day 3.Oh and a bit of a furry tongue sometimes - toxins coming out !!

Oh so nothing too major. I got a headache at the beginning with low carb too so that's no different. It sounds good.

I have lost another pound despite working away for a few days and indulging in some tasty food. However, I kept the portion sizes small.

I am running and attending the gym so feeling really healthy at the moment. I am also losing inches all over my body - people keep commenting how trim I am!

I tend to make all the juices up and keep them in the fridge. That way I only need to clean the juicer once a day. As I am having juices for breakfast and lunch, I make them up the evening before.

Hello. May I ask what juicer do you use? Mine got totally damaged beyond repair and I need to get another one but I have never had any luck with the juicer I had and in fact I wasn't even sorry when I had to through it away. Most of the fruit wasn't going through the juicer, it was a lot of waste and to clean it was a total nightmare. In fact I was never sure whether I completely cleaned mine so I was scared I'd pick up some nasty bug one day. I can't remember which one I used to have but you get the picture. Any advice is very much appreciated. Thanks.

Marie - That's brilliant that you have still lost a lb despite eating a bit more but it sounds as if you are doing loads of exericse. Sorry for another silly question from me, but if you make for the whole day do you have the same juices all day or do you make a variety to last the day? That's a good idea doing them all in one go.

Mousemole - That juice looks so much better than the one we have!

friendly7 · 09/05/2010 22:08

Thank you mousemole. It looks similar to what I had. I never used the dishwasher to wash it and the amount of fruit left was rather a lot. I might be wrong though, may be it was a similar make? It was very noisy too, the whole kitchen was shaken (LOL).

mariepuree · 13/05/2010 20:57

Mummymels, sorry to take long answering your question but work and children keep me away from the PC.

I make up different juices at the same time. So last evening I made up zinger juice and turbo charge juice for breakfast and lunch respectively today. I also had rye bread with cheese too for lunch. For dinner, I had a side plate of potatoe, bacon and cheese and onion bake that I made for dinner along with veg. Using a side plate helps to keep the portions small.

No problem mariepuree and thanks for answering. I understand what it is like to trying to fit everything in around the children. The names of those juices sound yummy without even knowing what is in them.

Mummymels, I found some of the recipes online in the Daily Mail. I just googled Jason Vale and recipes. They're so yummy that I'm getting the book. I'm not doing the diet, just incorporating some of the juices into my meal plan.

mummymels · 18/05/2010 22:59

That sounds a good plan. Good luck with it. I think I may look some of the juices up on the web thanks.
