I need to lose 2-3 stone.
I have asthma and are not fit.
My stomach muscles have separated due to baby number 3's cooking and birth.
I would prefer to do something in the house.

What are my options?

I bought a yoga dvd off ebay and it was quite good. Walking is a really good source of excercise too.

DH has just bought me a Wii with the sports pack so wish me luck.

Yikes.

I have done 31 minutes of various exercises. Only 88 calories burnt though . I am going to be obese (it said I was ) for ages. How can I be obese at 12 stone 9lbs?

I second a yoga dvd. Get one off Ebay or even Amazon sometimes have good deals.
Another suggestion, and one I am currently doing, is the 10-minute solution - target toning dvd. I can feel it work and is only 10 mins per section and aimed at absolute beginners. Have a look on Amazon for reviews. This is by far my best exercise DVD buy ever.

I forgot to mention that the Davina 3 x 30-minutes workout dvd work out at around 200 calories burnt for every 30 minute section. I can't remember where I read that though, will try to Google it. However, there is a fair amount of jumping involved in her workouts which might not be suitable for a complete beginner.

You are not going to lose any amount of weight with a Wii fit. I speak from bitter experience.

Joby1970 · 13/04/2010 08:23

EvilTwins : I think that you may have been unlucky. I started off last April weighing approx 13 stone 4 (I'm 5 foot 4)& I got Wii Fit - used it along with eating healthily for approx 3 months & lost a stone. This encouraged me to get EA Sports Personal Trainer, then a little later More Workouts & the Biggest Loser Wii game all of which helped shift another stone. At the start of this year I got Jillian Micheals 30 day shred DVD (that's a killer) & at the end of that I felt energised enough to join a gym. I now feel fit & fab & love shopping for clothes again (oh yeah & I'm sure I'm heathier too)lol.

SO FABISGOINGTOGETFIT big oaks start from little acorns - you go girl & keep it up x

I have done a 3rd day and it is great. The first 2 days I did yoga and today I did step exercises. Saying how much your clothes weigh has quite an effect on the health age and weight it says for you but I am not focusing too much on that or the weight it says I am, but I love doing it.

Ooo, that does sound good. Perhaps I should stick at it. Thanks Joby!
