I used this book for starters. It tells you everything you need to know and you don't have to follow the plan religiously (it involves a lot of cooking) as long as you follow the general advice. I lost loads of weight on this a few years back, but as always it does start to creep back on once you stop doing it. So it's more about changing your diet for good as opposed to a crash diet IYSWIM.

But all in all it's fab - after having no. 3 I am back on it now. The best thing about it is that I don't feel so damn hungry all the time as I'm eating stuff that keeps me going for longer. And there are some great recipes in there. We've also used the Anthony Worrall-Thompson cookbook, which is quite good.

Thank you Barba im going to get that book if i can in my local bookshop or in the supermarket if they have it (dont have a credit card cant order it online) but i think it sounds a really healthy way of loosing weight. Im kinda at a stand still at the moment doing it on my own & i think i need to get on a proper plan with some proper rules! possibly i need a drill sargent running after me with a whip... but i think that may be harder to come by
