Ok, so I bought the Neris and Indias idiot proof diet. I've bought my supplements (not all off them mind) and filled fridge with cheese, eggs, meat and veg.
Got through day one and it was awful! Spent all day just wanting chocolate!
Really not looking forward to day two so please someone tell me the chocolate craving will go away? please.

They will! Just focus on all the lovely food that you can have. It's not a deprivation diet (apart from no chocolate ...!)

The initial two week phase will really help you to get any sugar cravings under control so for this reason it's really important to stay strong/not give in.

After that period you may find that you don't actually crave chocolate. If you absolutely must have it, you can have Thornton's/Boots No Added Sugar (used to be called Diabetic) chocolate. However, you need to know that both of these contain polyols (artificial sweeteners) which can be a strong laxative.

And some people find that the stall their weight loss.

Hello....can i ask a question about this too?
Can you drink no added sugar squash on a low carb diet? The bottle says it has 1.2g carbohydrate in 100mls ...so if you have 10mls in a drink would only be .12g wouldnt it? Or is there a good reason you shouldnt drink it? I really crave it!
Thanks!

As long as you work out the carbs really carefully - I found the labels pretty confusing. Is that 1.2g of diluted or neat squash? The stuff I had didn't make it clear enough!

I have read assertions that for some people artificial sweeteners can cause a stall in weight loss. I don't know how true that is, but I guess there's one way to find out.

Are you following a particular low carb plan, WSMN? If you are doing one with an initial phase of much lower carbs per day, it might be a good idea to try and avoid the squash, just so you can make sure you're getting your carbs from more nutritious sources like salad leaves and vegetables.

Yey! I'm past the chocolate cravings!!!It's just alcohol I want now. Would a dash of vodka be so bad in my soda water tonight?

cosysocks - if you're doing India/Neris, then no you can't have it!!! You should be doing 2 weeks without it.

(but well done for not craving chocolate)

cosysocks · 11/04/2010 20:23

I know I can't!!!!!!
I've developed a 'just get to bed' approach that is... I just need to get through today until I can go to bed.
To be honest I had friends over last night and didn't miss not drinking after the intial 'oh I want a drink' oh and sneakly weighed myself and I've lost 2 1/2 pounds and only on day 3!!!!

cosysocks · 18/04/2010 09:07

Oh now I caved in and had chocolate last night! feel really bad now! Have I ruined everything? Really don't want to have to go to the start again I was on day 10.
