Runners - what's on your ipod/mp3 player?

Since DD turned 3 months old, I've started running again. I've got a good few stones to loose and running was the only thing that shifted the extra weight after I had DS.

I need some good running songs to put on DH's my MP3 played to help me get round my route. What do you listen to while you're running to help you keep going?

I listen to the ramones. The beat works well with my pace, the songs are nice and short which was good when I was just starting- I could tell myself to run to the end of a song knowing it wasn't too far away!

Have a look here for suggestions.

I found recently that I liked running to Jamiroqui Cosmic girl, that it suited my pace ie. very slow and looked for other tracks that are similar pace - beats per minute.

Gives some good suggestions on that site. Am going to update my playlist today.

Sorting them into BMP is a fab idea!

I've always liked Avril Lavignes "Girlfriend" for running to, I'll look for something of a similar speed.

Although, that was a year ago when I was doing around 11k per run. I'm struggling to make 1k now after another pregnancy and birth.

Will get there though

I subscribe to a running podcast: Indie Soup I think its called. Totally free...I can't remember what the bpm is though.

Going in a completely different direction, I have started listening to voice only podcasts when I am out. I 'zone out' more with these than with music, as with music I just seem to spend all my time going 'oh shit, only two songs and I'm knackered already' .

However, on the days that I do listen to music, particular faves are Wake me up before you go go by Wham, Since you've been gone by Rainbow (I think?), Not gonna get us by Tatu and, of course, Mr Blue Sky!

Am off to check out those running podcasts now....

Definitely need some good training music now! Just entered the Race for Life 10k in June - I can't even run 1k again yet!!
