It's because I have a bum now. Am usually quite flat. I keep catching sight, in shop windows, mirrors etc., of something following me around.

DH clearly pleased about new bum. I would be too, but its pals the hamsters have to go. As does the muffin they have attached to my midriff as a foodstore.

MmeLindt · 28/03/2010 20:09

Auld
Lol at the French sticking to their red wine even at a Soiree Irlandaise.

What weight were you when you met DH? Does he know what you look like when you are slimmer?

MmeLindt · 28/03/2010 20:10

Fishie
Well done for the 15km. I presume you were a runner already, not a beginner for the MN marathon?

AuldAlliance · 28/03/2010 20:13

MmeLindt, I was 53kg. Am now 55 and a bit. The bum is a v recent development. I've always known he'd have preferred me to have one. As I say, I'm not complaining, it's not huge, just a bum rather than a flat arse. If I can keep it but eliminate the hamster/muffin combo, so much the better.

There was Guinness for aperitif. Then red wine. Lots of cr*ap jokes about whether it was Irish. I hate beer, so was pleased, but restrained.

Congrats on your run, BTW.

dinkystinky · 28/03/2010 20:14

Fishie - well done on the 15k!

AuldAlliance · 28/03/2010 20:15

ooh, yes, 15k v impressive!!

bobbiewickham · 28/03/2010 20:17

Get some MBTs, Auld. Give you a very pert arse. Or fitflops.

isthatporridgeinyourhair · 28/03/2010 20:17

That's great fishie!

AuldAlliance · 28/03/2010 20:18

MBTs?

bobbiewickham · 28/03/2010 20:20

Trainers that give your bum, legs and tummy a workout as you walk. Would do a link but it would fail and I would be embarrassed.

They're not pretty, but you only have to wear them an hour or so a day, so you could wear them at home.

£££ though.

MmeLindt · 28/03/2010 20:20

MBTs - very very fugly shoes. Even fuglier than Crocs.

Anyone know if they work? And fitflops?

Can you do some exercises that get rid of the hamsters adn their storage silo while leaving you a bit of JLo bum?

bobbiewickham · 28/03/2010 20:21

They do work, if you stick at it.

But you're right, the fugliness is a deterrent.

Fitflops better for summer.

cyb · 28/03/2010 20:22

I know Su's tweeted it but can I urge you to watch the daily mail song on that trhead, its veh funny

cocolepew · 28/03/2010 20:24

You lot BERATED me over my Double Deckers and Wotsits now listen to you "cream eggs" "burgers" "chocolate"

I had peanut butter and ryvita for tea.

I'm the only person allowed in The Zone. I am The Chosen One. I have a lovely bum.

HumphreyCobbler · 28/03/2010 20:25

Hello everyone.

I passed momentarily out of the zone when I ate some carrot cake and a bit of stilton, but otherwise not too bad.

I wish I had done a 15k run though, well done fishie.

AuldAlliance · 28/03/2010 20:25

Exercises definitely the way to go.

Fugly shoes: will check them out. Don't want to be deported for unacceptable footwear.

LeSingeEstDansLarbre · 28/03/2010 20:25

my cranio sacral chiropractor, a well known miseryguts with a deep, deep loathing of baby door bouncers and bumbos, told me that mbts are great for some people and terribly damaging to others. she gets good business from mbts, she reckons. sees them in the waiting room and thinks 'aye aye'.

MmeLindt · 28/03/2010 20:28

lol, at the doc Aitch.

MBT

The boots are a maybe, but the normal shoes. Even for someone who has a couple of pairs of Crocs - they are just too ugly.

Fitflops are not bad.

bobbiewickham · 28/03/2010 20:28

Really?

Best to get advice, then, I suppose.

duckyfuzz · 28/03/2010 20:29

daily mail song v good, recommend it

bobbiewickham · 28/03/2010 20:29

I've got some silver sequinned fitflops.

No small children have cried yet.

MmeLindt · 28/03/2010 20:31

What does she say about the Bumbo, btw. I have long harboured doubts about them, even when my cousins swear by them.

BariatricObama · 28/03/2010 20:32

dd loved the bumbo. i don't see the big deal apart from the fact it was a ridiculous thing to buy for 3 months or whatever.

AuldAlliance · 28/03/2010 20:34

Oh, French woman we were at soirée with has some shoes like those (but less fugly, TBH). Not worn to soirée, she wears them at home, I think.
She is a PE teacher, very slim and toned.

But I have dodgy joints, bit wary.

All irrelevant anyway, given the price.

LeSingeEstDansLarbre · 28/03/2010 20:37

it's something to do with the lower spine, i think, if yours is wont to go funny it will do so in an mbt. or something like that.

bumbo problem is if babies aren't able to sit up then they've no earthly business doing so. she's very stern.
