Slimming world - Lack of Weight Loss

weaver4936 · 24/03/2010 21:15

Hi

I have been following Slimming World online for the past 3 weeks and have lost nothing. I am religiously sticking to my sins (no more than 7 a day), I have kept a food diary and checked everything is ok and I ensure I have all my Healthy Extras. I exercise for at least 30 minutes everyday but I just cant understand why I am not losing weight.....

Is it possible to eat too much fruit? I have a big bowl in the morning with yogurt and will eat a couple of apples throughout the day.

Has anyone had a similar experience? Can someone offer any advice as its really hard to stay motivated

Watch your 'b' choices (bread, pasta etc) - if you need to weigh something do. I found reducing a 'b' choice to 1/2 worked - i.e 1 weetabix not 2. Try free speed foods - prawns on an original day and melon on green day. If you are having lots of original days have more green and vice versa. Hope this helps.

My B choices are normally Cereal / Porridge in the morning and either bread at lunch for a sandwich or an Alpen Light Bar....

I find I only lose weight on SW if I do mainly red days... what combination have you been doing?

Are you counting all cooking oils etc?

weaver4936 · 24/03/2010 21:33

Mainly red days...ill probably have one green in the middle of the week and even then im careful I dont over do it on carbs as I get quite bloated...

I use that 1 cal spray and always count things like my extra light mayonnaise and gravy...

Thanks for your replies

It is possible to have too much fruit - how many bananas/ grapes are you having. Also why are you only having 7 sins a day - you are allowed 10 - these are factored into the program.

I think the most important thing is to make sure that at least a third of your plate is superfree foods.

All 'free' food is not equal. Up the amount of speed and superspeed foods - ie eat more veg, pulses, beans and fish.

Good luck.

And use all your syns. If you deprive yourself you are less likely to stick to it.

Well it says you can have between 5 and 15 but I normally have a kit kat or crisps which is 5.5 then mayo on sandwhich.

I was under the impression that if I have 15 sins it will slow my (non existant) weight loss down - is this incorrect?

Ill only ever have 1 banana a day...

I was a bit like this for a wee while.

I found swapping to a full week of Extra Easy days shifted me. I lost 2lb after 2 weeks of sitting at the same weight. It's not a huge weight loss, but then I'm quite near my target at the minute.

How about you try & fill 1/3 of your plate with super free foods if you're doing an EE day? JUst try it, it really will work. The plan does work but you really need to follow it to the letter.

Are you sure the brand of bread you buy is a HE? What about the weight of it? Just take a day or two of weighing your HEs to ensure the correct measurements & you might see a small thing you're not recording.

HAve you ever tried an SAS log? I think you can fill one out on the SW website... it'll not guarantee a huge weight loss, but if filled in correctly then it will let you see where you may be going wrong.

I buy weight watchers brown danish bread...and I always weigh 42g of Weetabix crunchy bran or have 1oz or porridge oats with water (and use my milk allowance for coffee).

As I have been doing it online for 3 weeks I might have to say "stuff the money" and go to the weekly meetings.

I went through a stage of eating 2 meals a day due to work commitments but that was over 2 years ago...

Hi, I came across your post by sheer accident and hope you don't mind me replying.

I have been doing slimming world for a year (today 29 April) and have lost 6 stone and 2 pounds so far and I hope this helps...

I stick to green, do not cook in any oil (bake in water for your roast and fry with a little water instead of oil or fry light) and do not eat bread, I found if I ate bread as my healthy B i never lost any weight.

I noticed that you mentioned Alpine light, these are 2 for a health B

I always cook from scratch and do not buy pre-packed foods

If I can be of any help please let me know

Jacquie
