Hello everyone HELP!

I'm 14st 8lb and 5ft 6 and have always been overweight. Over the last 2 years I have put on more and more weight (since my little one was born). My problem is whenever I'm due to start a new diet I gorge on my fav foods, pizza, choc, Mcd's, I'm not all that fussy, and then I never start my diet.

I really want to change my life but don't know where to start, CD, WW, SW, Celebrity Slim, Rosey? I really work better when I loose weight quickly, it's a good motivator but I need something realistic that I can fit into my day to day life.

I also struggle to fit excercise in due to childcare and work!

As you can see I can go on a bit but I'm hoping you guys are going to be able to help and inspire me! [Wink]

Hiya,

I put on loads of weight after my ds was born through sheer bordom and frustration at being stuck in the house all the time. Like you I spent months and months thinking I would start my diet tomorrow so pigging out on pizza and KFC .

I am gradually losing it now. Not really fllowing any diet as such, just cutting back on the ridiculous amount of food I actually used to eat.

I think the main thing is to make long term changes that really do add up to make a huge difference...eg no butter in sandwiches, switching to skimmed milk, eating fruit instead of snacking on junk (which I am still struggling to do!), not really cutting anything out, just having everything in moderation. The smallest step I started with was to wean myself off sugar in tea. I was a tea-a-holic and had 3 sugars in every cup! I gradually cut down and now I have it with skimmed milk and no sugar and actually I don't miss the sugar at all.

I eat brown rice with things instead of potatoes/ chips etc. Very tasty and much better and more filling than all the starchy carbohydrates.

There are loads of excercises that you can do while your toddler is asleep or have them with you, just simple things make a big difference. I take ds swimming with dh so he entertains ds while I have a proper swim. I also am trying to excercise while ds is in bed which I am often too knackered to do after running around after a 2 yr old all day but I do try to move more in general.

I found that once I had started to eat healthy, I want to keep it up. The hardest thing is the first day or two but once you have made the decision to do it then just go for it.

Rememeber that if you really want to do it then only you have the power to do it and you can do it today. It is hard work sometimes but it is quite simple and doesn't have to be complicated or expensive. GOOD LUCK!

Hi,

I piled on the weight from both of my pregnancies and just continued to eat excessively after my children were born. It reached out of control stage and I got really down about it. I have tried many many diets and some worked better than others but I never stuck it out. I am like you in that I need to see big results quickly to help motivate me.

I am in my 8th week of a LC diet with a company called GoLower. So far I have lost 32 1/2 lbs and am really impressed with it. No exercise is required although I have recently started doing a Davina DVD as the weight loss is so rapid I don't want to end up saggy!
The food is delivered to your door and has everything you need so you don't have to think about what to have. It is tasty and filling. There are plenty of snacks and treats as well.

Have you tried a LC diet before? As you can get quite dramatic weight loss very quickly?

Have you ever thought of getting a personal trainer? I found one which is affordable and she comes to me so I dont need childcare, gym membership or travel....she's also helped me out with a diet plan. The company I go through is called NowFitness (www.nowfitness.co.uk)and ask for the new mums training package.

Good luck x
