Ok, so I'm going on holiday 6 weeks Monday so would really love to lose 7lb's and tone up as much as possible. I have 2 dc, both under 2, the youngest is 8 months. So I've ordered 3 exercise dvd's 30min and 10 min sessions. I'm hoping to be able to drag myself out of bed at 6am to do 1 of these before dc's get up !! I'm also contemplating running , but will see how i get on with the dvd's 1st!

I'm also going to try and eat a little less chocolate in the evenings , so have ordered some chromium to try and help me beat me sugar cravings! As well as think about my portion sizes, try and have 1/2 a plate of veg/salad and try not to eat too many carbs, and just a little if I do.

So does anyone want to join me on my 6 week mission? Hope so I'm going to try and keep a daily log of my exercise on here. And do a weekly weigh-in on a Monday, begining Monday 15th! So will add my start weight on Mon, it's about 9stone7lb and I'm 5ft4.

Off to enjoy the weekend before I begin my ordeal!!!

Can I join you? I need to lose some weight before a class reunion on 23 April. I know its very soon but I hope this will kick start me into losing 1 and a bit stones.
Niclaplus1 I'm 5'6 and also a size 16
Hope to put those clothes in long term storage soon. I'm starting on Monday

mamasunshine · 14/03/2010 20:47

Hi Nicola, you sound busy too! How often are you working? I'm lucky to only work 2 days a week, but they are long...it takes me another 2 days to recover!!

Starbear I'm sure you WILL lose weight by 23rd April. I'm trying to be realistic this time with hoping to lose 7lb's. And I think once that first 1/2 a stone is off it's great motivation

Well. having stuffed myself all day I'm hoping to have a good 1st day tommorrow! Good luck both!

Hi i work 3 days 9-5 but yes agree i takes you 2 days to catch up lol.

LittleGandT · 15/03/2010 01:16

Can i join you? I was also thinking of aiming for 1lb a week as it didn't seem too unrealistic. (Or at least it wouldn't be unrealistic if i could stop shovelling in the grub for five minutes...)

SusieCarmichael · 15/03/2010 01:27

can i join? i don't have any weighing scales but i go by dress size and i would like to get back down to a 10ish i am currently 12/14

my problem is that i eat too much even when i'm full!

i want to get back into doing pilates as that was working for me but stopped because i don't like paying £6 for one session per week, so need to get a dvd or something.. any suggestions for a good one anybody?

good luck everyone, we can do it

mamasunshine · 15/03/2010 21:33

Nicola - I too have a bit of a thing for KFC hoping I can be strong and avoid!!

Welcome GandT and Susie , hopefully we can all help each other along and keep each other motivated! I've just ordered a pilates dvd from amazon, I'll let you know how i get on with it (also didn't want to pay the 6pounds 2x a wk!)

Well I've had a really long stressful day. Ate reasonably well though, breakfast yogurt and toast, salmon and bean salad for lunch, veggie mousaka with salad for dinner. But then just got home after said awful day and have managed to shove eat a bar of galaxy and guzzle drink a glass of wine MUST SAY NO TO THESE NAUGHTIES!!! My dh is no help whatsoever!

Hope it's been a good day for you all?

Oh nearly forgot my weigh-in!

Hello,
Well difficult day as I had a biscuit & tea for breakfast then a latte on the way into work. This must stop not only the calories but the cost [shocked] Not easy to diet at the moment because I never know where I will be at lunchtime but next week I start in a new dept which is completely office based (I think) which means I can control what I eat.
I then had a cheese and tomatoe sandwich & a juice. I had 4 chocolates out of my mother's day present! I also brought a diet plate which means I only had two table spoons of rice instead of the huge pile I normally have.
I work three days a week. I also love my food and my own cooking. All my friends who are bad cooks are slim!
Start weight 11st 5 weighing scales not very exact but still 11 stones If I can get down to 10st I will be happy.

SusieCarmichael · 15/03/2010 23:40

evening all, well i've decided to stop eating after 6pm which is usually a hungry time for me. i ate at 4:30 before i went to work and have had nothing since so i'm very pleased with myself (i usually snack on crisps or have a huge pile of chips as i work in a pub!)

thanks mama, do let me know if its any good i really need to tone up

i think i need weighing scales, god knows how much i weigh.....

mamasunshine · 16/03/2010 08:01

Morning all

Well I have woken up feeling very motivated today !! My Davina box set power of 3 dvd came yestarday, so going to give the 1 hr session a go today...it also has 3 x 30min session's, so I'll report back on how it is! Just hoping my 9month and 2 yrs old ds's want to join in?!!

Starbear - where did you get the diet plate from? LOL at the "All my friends who are bad cooks are slim!"

Susie - I don't think knowing your actual weight is really that important. And if you're happier to go by dress size then stick with that Also, I hope you don't mind me saying but 4.30pm onwards sounds like a very long time to go with no food? Maybe you could take a protein bar and banana/raw veggies with humous dip to work with you to snack on? It'll help to keep your metabolism going. Periods of starvation make the body 'hold on' to fat! So ideally need to eat little and often.

TODAY WILL BE A GOOD DAY!! JUST SAY NO THANK YOU TO THAT OFFER OF A BISCUIT/CAKE/CHIPS!!!! (unless you REALLY want it!)

SusieCarmichael · 16/03/2010 09:46

thanks mama, i have also woken up very positive today, i'm going for a bike ride while dd is at nursery, its a lovely day here

i thought it seemed like a long time, i work from 5 til 12, humous dips are a great idea and i definitely don't mind you saying thats why i joined as i know very little about the right ways to lose weight!

SusieCarmichael · 16/03/2010 09:47

oh, did the dc enjoy the davina dvd?

Nicolaplus1 · 16/03/2010 16:44

well ladies weighed in 2day and am happy to report am 2lb 6 oz lighter

no too bad i dont think considedring kfc incident oh and 2 choc biccis

Also have started p yesterday and want t eat the world lol

mamasunshine · 16/03/2010 20:17

Congratulations to Nicola on your loss!! That's great! Has that given you loads of motivation for this week?

How was the bike ride Susie?

Well I have a confession to make , this morning turned into a nightmare and by the time I had chance to get any breakfast (at 11am!) I was starving and spied a piece of leftover choc bday cake so I ate that!!!

But the day did get better! I managed to do the davina dvd, I did the 1 hr disc and really enjoyed it, very easy to follow and puffed me out. I couldn't do much of the abdominal section, but I suppose 2 pregnancies is to blame for that! Think I may be aching a bit tomorrow! DC's ended up having a nap whilst it was on so they didn't get to join in this time! Then I walked for miles this afternoon with the double buggy.

I had a cheese omelette for lunch, a naked bar for a snack (these are yummy, and very healthy, raw nuts/fruit etc rolled together), fish, veggies and a small amount of potatoes for dinner. (oh and I did have a small glass of wine too!) Now dh has gone to the shop with strict instructions NOT to buy me anything naughty! I'm thinking the only way I will beat my evening chocolate cravings will be to go to bed as soon as I've sorted the house etc! Early night's for me!

Work for me tomorrow so no exercise, will have to be very good with food intake

OP posts:
Nicolaplus1 · 16/03/2010 21:35

Yeah it has especially seen as i wasnt expecting to much this week.
Am now quite excited to see how good i can do next week with no cheats

Also working next 3 days so i have a big batch of free soup on the go for lunchs!
I fully intend to do more walking at the weeknd and on my days off stuff the house especially now weathers picking up

Exercise is 1 of my main probs i think, i have even just tried to convince DH that i need another pram u know a good walking pram lol

Good luck girls........

LittleGandT · 17/03/2010 00:40

Hello All,
Forgot to give my start weight too: exactly 10 stone. I guess i'd like to drop about a stone to get back to feeling something like my old (pre-kids) self.

Just bought some decent digi scales for the first time. I think a daily weigh-in could be good motivation, although it could back-fire badly: there's always the danger that a demoralisingly bad result will set me off comfort munching...

Totally agree with you MamaS about early nights being the way forward. Unfortunately, as you can see from my posting times, i'm a terrible (and greedynight owl.

Good night everyone and good luck

mamasunshine · 17/03/2010 19:44

Hope everyone's had a good day?

I've been really good, but it's easy when I'm at work as I have no access to anything naughty! But now kids are in bed, house tidy(ish!) and dh busy so I'm desperate for something to eat, cake/choc/biscuits/just anything with sugar . Can I really go to bed at 7.30 to hide from my cravings?!!! Think I might just make myself some hot cocoa...surely that won't be too bad, afterall it's green and blacks and find a book to read.

Whole body is aching today so dvd obviously did something yesterday! Going to try one of the 30 mins workouts tomorrow.

GandT those are really late nights! I couldn't function! ANd I would definately get through at least a kilo of choc by that time so good job hey!!

Nicolaplus1 · 17/03/2010 20:33

Had a crap day, ate an apple pie, crisp, sweets blah blah blah

Thinks it because am on my period i just want to eat eat eat my DH has a mars bar in he fridge and he out

Urgh has slightly annoyed at myself 2day am now thinkin eat the damn mars and wipe 2day off as a bad day and start afrest tomorrow

mamasunshine · 17/03/2010 21:25

Hi Nicola...don't be too hard on yourself, as you say tomorrow IS a new day so forget about today it's done. And just start afresh And you know you CAN do it, look at your loss last week

OP posts:
LittleGandT · 18/03/2010 00:31

No i can't function on this little sleep either MamaS...I don't function properly and i do eat kilos of choc.

I ate all kinds of not great things in not great quantities today as well Nicola. Do you thing it might help to try to see these days not as 'bad' days, but as a choice? I mean instead of saying 'that was a crap day', try to say 'ok, today i chose to eat xyz and i enjoyed it and that's fine, tomorrow i will choose to eat something different.' I wonder if seeing it in a more positive light like this might be useful. -Fewer opportunities for self-criticism and maybe less demoralising.

Well it's just a thought. Not sure if i explained what i meant very well.

Night night.

Nicolaplus1 · 18/03/2010 08:21

Lol littlegrand you explained it perfectly and yes your right, it is the best way to look at it.

Today i am sooo tired DD decided to keep us awake half of the night and i am not in the frame of mind for much TBH am at work today and work is one of the worth places to be when you are on a diet, i work in an office full of women and goodies

I will say no i will say no!!

The intention is there sat on my desk staring at me, 1 banana, 1 orange and a bag of grapes for snacks.

Good luck ladies

SusieCarmichael · 19/03/2010 00:20

hi all

i like your reasoning GandT

well today i chose toast for brekkie, cheese salad roll for lunch and greek salad for dinner (7:30 at work) but i had 3, yes three! bags of crisps and a bag of roasted peanuts and now i am going to have a lindt, but just one!
i'm not happy about the crisps as it would have been a good day otherwise, buuut tomorrow is another day and my tummy is already less pokey outy

@ mama's green and blacks cocoa

mamasunshine · 19/03/2010 09:47

Hello

Also loving the GandT reasoning yesterday I had muesli for breakfast, cheese omelette for snack, chicken and salad for lunch and green thai chicken curry and rice for dinner. But also Chose to have a whole bag of mini creme eggs and 2 can's of guiness Also I didn't get round to doing another exercise dvd !! I fear my OP was a little optimistic!! But had no sleep the night before so that's my excuse to self!

But going to a soft play group now, which is always a massive workout in itself!! ANd having a long walk this afternoon Goingto be good all day so I can treat myself with a glass of wine tonight

Hope you're all still doing brilliantly
