I bought one last year and along with calorie counting, I used the bike each day sometimes for half an hour and other times an hour and the weight came off fairly easily and I am convinced it was because I was using the bike. Stopped using it over the Winter and have eaten what I like so need to get back on it and re focus.

no. none whatsoever.
either buy a proper bike, or use the money to pay for gym membership. any sort of home excercise equipment is deemed to failure.

I use mine occassionally. But alas it is used more regularly as a clothes horse. Now a proper bike, I do use. And it's harder, burns more calories and you get fresh air and sunshine to boot.

i've had one since january and have used it a lot - I got a decent one though (so v quiet, and different programs to keep interest) and it is right in the living room so i go on it and watch a tv program. I'm also on a diet, but have definitely lost more inches than I would have expected to for the weight I've lost.

put an add on freecycle and check your lcal ebay, get one for free/£20 and then you wont feel as bad when you don't get on it
