Welcome shortandsweet!!!

shortandsweet2 · 10/03/2010 16:07

Thanks Blue

What do you all normally have for breakfast?

BlueBumedFly · 10/03/2010 18:02

I hate breakfasty things, cereal is too sugary for me and lots of fruit gives me a real headache. What I would really like is hot buttery toast or a ham and cheese croissant however, that's how i got to this size!!

So, I either have a piece of unbuttered toast with baked beans if I have time, on the run in the week so ryvita with low fat ham or cheese spread, starbucks crepe with ham/mushrooms (guilty pleasure and low cal.) sunday mushrooms, scrambled eggs, low fat bacon and beans.

I am a real savory lover and have no food clock so don't feel the need for breakfasty things at breakfast, much prefer the continental approach.

What about you?

What's everyone having for dinner tonight??

shortandsweet2 · 10/03/2010 18:51

I have been having fruit and yoghurt or beans and quorn sausages - I am so bored already!

For dinner I have has sw chips, beans, mushrooms, quorn sausage and egg - very yummy comfort food

BlueBumedFly · 10/03/2010 21:13

Sounds yum. Had oven roasted veggies and a quorn escalope... Plus v small glass of wine..

Goober · 10/03/2010 21:44

Hey!

Just back from BLT class. Legs will fail me if I try to stand up!

I was strong. I cooked the gammon egg and chips for birthday girl. Didn't even nick one chip off a plate. I had scrambled egg on toast and a slither of birthday cake.

BlueBumedFly · 10/03/2010 22:18

Goober - you star!! Well done you, now hobble off to bed!

Goober · 10/03/2010 22:26

N'night ladies.

shortandsweet2 · 11/03/2010 06:41

Goober couldn't you have the same if the chips were SW chips?

BlueBumedFly · 11/03/2010 06:47

How do you make sw chips? I am feeling left out!!

shortandsweet2 · 11/03/2010 07:28

Blue - You get potatoes, cut them up like chips, steam or boil for a couple of minutes and then add to a baking try with a good few sprays of fry light, cook at about 220 for 20 - 30mins. Very yummy and free on green days or on EE.

youcantlabelme · 11/03/2010 18:59

Thanks Goober, will deffo do that-get fed up with the three o'clock munchies at work ruining everything.

Had a good day yesterday and did an exercise class, which had me sweating like a pig!

So far so good today too, and no more food for me today.

.. although am roasting a chicken for tomorrow's dinner(cos will be working late) and the lovely smell wafting from the kitchen is killing me.

All you ladies doing SW, how does it work if you can eat shedloads of carbs in one day?

BlueBumedFly · 11/03/2010 19:02

Shortandsweet - that sounds yum! I might just try that tonight - I have managed to save 400 cals for tonight's feast!! Or, 200 and a nice glass of wine

Goober · 11/03/2010 19:30

Chips sound interesting. I may try them one of these days.

I'll give you all a tip.

Some afternoons I get so hungry that I get the shakes and brain starts to go fuzzy. I crave chocolate and anything that will give me a sugar hit. Have found Horlicks Light to be a real saviour, it really takes the edge off the hunger and gives me my sugar hit.

BlueBumedFly · 11/03/2010 19:48

Goober if you are getting the shakes then that is not good, its a sign of really low blood sugar. Is the food you are eating good quality calories that give a slow energy release? More protein less carbs?

I cannot eat hardly any sugar as I swing from high to low to high to low and it makes me ill, I find if I balance out with protein I am OK.

Goober · 11/03/2010 19:52

It is mostly when I have been really active. It doesn't happen that much but when it does the Horlicks is great.

BlueBumedFly · 11/03/2010 21:27

Good, then Horlicks away

I am still working so my brain is fuzzy and I have eaten!

em83 · 12/03/2010 08:21

hi all ! been really busy with the 3 dcs not being well and have been at work etc so havebt been around for a day or 2 !
welcome shortandsweet

my diet was going well but, kids havent been well so i havent been in kitchen much so have just been grabbing at things - choc etc
but my hols are 8 weeks from today so im REALLY sticking to it.... may have to take upn the calorie counting approach as oppose to slimming world coz i take the complete biscuit and 10 sins ends up 20
think i will have

@ 300 cals brekky
@ 400 cals lunch
@ 600 cals tea
than 2 snacks @100 cals each
totalling 1500 cals!
i have lost weight doing this before so think it will work i also plan to do coleen nolan workout dvd and/or wii fit for at least half an hour 4 times a week.......
fingers crossed! even if i can be a comfy size 14{from next as iv seen some lovely shorts in there lol,and next sizing always seems smaller to me} for my hols i will be happy......

Goober · 12/03/2010 13:17

I came on this morning.
I wondered why I hadn't lost anything in a few days.
So far today have had porridge, 2 bananas, a pitta and 4 slices of Soreen which is lush especially as I've got my hormonal chocolate head on.
Later I will make a tomato, adzuki and veg soup for my tea.

em83 · 12/03/2010 15:30

well i have been counting cals all day,,,
do you think if i stick within my calorie intake for the day, i could incoperate crisps and choccies etc??

OP posts:
BlueBumedFly · 12/03/2010 18:05

Em - I try to make all cals good buy do only consume 1000 in real food so I can have a glass of wine. Went to London today as a birthday treat for dh, art gallery and lunch and was extremely good I think - Indonesian stir fried veggies with brown rice and tofu. It was remarkably good.

em83 · 12/03/2010 20:40

im just finding everything rather tempting
i have been rather good today though have counted my cals religiously..... hope it works
well done on the healthy lunch

OP posts:
BlueBumedFly · 12/03/2010 21:05

I find it really works counting cals as today I would have gone right off the scale thinking things were 'healthy' and then taken in 2000 or more cals quite easily.

I am just having some soup worth 160 cals as I suspect my lunch plus the wine really shoved up the numbers today!

shortandsweet2 · 15/03/2010 17:55

Hi all,

How have you all done over the weekend, mine wasn't that great but today is the beginning of a new week
