Sticking to the diet?

What the hell is wrong with me?? I've been on a diet for just two days. I went to the kitchen to get a drink and came out of a daydream to find myself eating a slice of caramel shortbread that was bought for DH. Worse, it was the third I'd eaten since arriving in the kitchen.

I've never managed to stick to a diet but this is just ridiculous. Does hypnotherapy work?? Or tying my hands together?! Seriously, how do other people manage it?

I could never stick to a normal diet either. I constantly graze on food if I'm in the house. Its so difficult.

I still wouldn't be able to stick to a normal diet, I know I wouldn't. I like my food too much.

Sorry, not much help I know but I understand totally where you're coming from.

It is hard and really you have to really on will power for the 1st few days. Once you get into it its easier.

I know this sounds cheesy but how about sticking some kind of reminder that youre dieting in the kitchen?

A pic of a slim you on the fridge door?
A pic/post it note with a message on the ontside or inside of the cupboard doors?

At least that may wake you up when you start dream eating and if you carry on, you'll be doing it consciously.
