I have tried lots, WW watchers worked when in my early 20's, SW in my early 30's, but now in my late 30's nither have worked. Does anyone know why?

Hi Simmo

I tried ww in my late 20's, early 30's and it worked for me. I had previously tried SW but I found that really hard. Apart from that I've tried cutting down etc on various occasions. However, Go Lower low carb is really working for me this time too.

I don't know why this could be that you have found these don't work fo you now. It does seem to be harder to lose weight the old you get but I have to admit I don't know much about biology and the science behind it but it would be interesting to know.

Haven't had any tests by my doctor, I thought WW worked the points on your weight didn't know it also worked out your metabolism. Guess thats why they ask your age too. Am currently doing a LC carb diet which suits me at the moment. It is usually so much harder to loose weight as you get older anyway but this time is it working

i have tried lots of diets and all diet pills.... and still 2 stone over weight but was 4 stone over weight... all diets have worked for me but i just dont stick to them,., i am a compulsive over eater.. not sure what will ever work

simmo39 · 24/02/2010 21:42

chocolatespiders - I so empathsise with you, I was exactly the same until recently. But 2 loose 2 stone and keep it off is brilliant, your are half way well done! I have lost 1 stone in 4 weeks and still have 4 1/2 to go but this time I really think I can do it. If you're looking for a fast weight loss, lots of support and the right advise to keep it off I do recommend the diet I am on, it's called Go Lower - have you heard of it?

I empathise too. I think I was addicted to chocolate before and to start with it was quite hard to wean myself off but once you get past those first few days it does get easier. Although having said that at least on Go Lower (I am doing it too) you are allowed chocolate so I can still get my fix and still lose weight!

chocolatespiders · 25/02/2010 21:51

no i havent heard of go lower...

I wish i could eat like a thin person ie when hungry and stop when full... but my biggest problem is i never really get hungry because i just eat... and i can still eat when i am full so i dont stop!!!!

today has been a god day and i feel better for it...

Really pleased you've had a good day well done! For info Go Lower is a Low Carb diet check out their website at - golower.co.uk If you are interested I recommend giving them a call for further info.
I am also an overeater, if I wasn't I wouldn't have got to 5 stone overweight, but on this diet I am not hungry which is quite strange but wonderful. Its the protein, very filling and ok to pick at when you want to.

I understand where you are coming from too. I used to graze all day. I'm still amazed that I have finally found a diet I'm not hungry on.

chocolatespiders · 28/02/2010 08:37

thanks for the info.... sadly as a single mum i wouldnt be able to fund it... I do work but still wouldnt be able to justify this...

It is great you have found something that works for you

simmo39 · 01/03/2010 22:08

think you can pay for 2 weeks at a time, but I do understand when there are other priorities. I have got to the stage where I spend so much money on crap foods that this is actually working out cheaper for me!
Best of luck though with your weight loss
