I've been posting on here for the past few days telling everyone I have a stone and a half to lose. Well I've just been on the scales and my weight has rocketed from 11st 7lbs last week to 11st 11lbs this morning.

I'm a bit gutted :-( I now have two stone to lose and I'm feeling a bit deflated.

I don't know if its the medication I'm on (laxatives for ibs, could be causing water retention) or what because my clothes don't seem any different.

But now the wii fit is going to tell me off too

Oh well, it starts today for me. Low carbs... 2 STONE to lose ... one stone before easter.

I completely relate - i have done crap this week and gone back to my starting point. Its so frustrating.

I guess we just have to stat again and try to keep going - but its very hard.

thankfully i dont have much to lose. I think part of my problem is i dont know which diet to actually follow so i end up pick and mixing!

I like cutting out bread etc but cant do low carb as i like my fruit

Is it becuase of half term?

I've foudn it tough this week. No chance to get to the gym, being here there and everywhere and not being able to prepare healthy food. I really hoping to lose a stone before Easter too, before the kids are at home again!

chopstheduck · 22/02/2010 08:25

I'm not following a set diet neither, just trying to eat low fat and low calorie meals. I did pick up the Gino A'Campo book The Italian Diet yesterday though, and there are some really nice looking ideas in that.

throckenholt · 22/02/2010 08:26

are you getting near your period ? I think you can vary by up to half a stone depending on where you are in your cycle.

Don't think about the large (total) you want to lose - just plan for losing say 4lbs to start with - and then when you achieve that you feel good, and go on to the next 4lb.

Good luck.

Well I've just cooked up my first low carb breakfast (and it tastes gorgeous ) and I braved the wii fit body test who did indeed tell me off and make my "mii" a bit fatter lol ... but Ive reset my short term goal and that is to lose 4lbs in two weeks.

Grr pressed 'post message' before I'd finished.

I am actually on a period so I suppose that could be part of it? and I have been eating loads during half term and have rarely left the house unless it was in the car.

I only have myself to blame I suppose but its so frustrating.

twinkle183 · 22/02/2010 19:55

Enchilada81 Sorry to ask and maybe this is a silly question but did you weigh yourself in the same clothes at the same time of day????

I keep hearing the term low carb... how do you do it??? simmo39 I was wondering if you could enlighten me as I really would love to loose a stone in 4 weeks and the thing is i do exercise alot....! My problem is food...

How good is the wii fit??? Am wondering whether I am missing something??? Please HELP!!!!

amazonianwoman · 22/02/2010 20:37

Don't worry Enchilada - you could lose 4lbs in a couple of days with low carb.

I can fluctuate a couple of pounds day to day - that's why it's important to just weigh once a week.

Just think - if you lose 7lbs in two weeks (entirely possible at start of diet) you'll be a quarter of the way there...

Goober · 22/02/2010 20:40

So the 4 lb crap didn't happen then?

simmo39 · 22/02/2010 21:05

twinkle183 - I am following a diet called GoLower see link -
golower.co.uk
They initally deliver the LC foods to your home, (not milkshakes, normal delicious meals ) after a few days your body goes into Ketosis and the weight just falls off. Try not to be put off by the cost (which I think is quite reasonable considering what I was speanding on crap foods! ) it does get cheaper as you start to make your own food, and the support line they provide has been so helpful. Let me know if you have any other questions I notice there are a few of us on this forum doing this diet now so it seems to be getting more popular.
Best of luck whatever you decide

twinkle183 · 23/02/2010 08:23

The go lower sounds great but is it expensive???

May try ww and just be strict with myself and my points.. the problem is with food I can be really lazy!!!

simmo39 · 23/02/2010 22:01

It costs me £216 per month (cheaper than LL which I have also tried) I suggest you give them a call though as the costs depends on the individual and weight you want to loose etc....
