I had a qiuck look in Whsmiths but couldn't see them.

Also how many calories should someone wanting to lose some weight, be having, does anyone know ?

The food focus website has the info you want. It is free and tells you how many calories you should be aiming for depending on your current weight and height. It also lists calories for loads of different foods etc.

Google Foof focus it should come up. (am rubbish at links)

Mrs morgan isn't the received wisdom now saying that calorie counting is not nec? I've never done it and recently went down 1 and a half dress sizes just with food combining eating healthily and using the Paul Mckenna way which i can totally recommend.

Don't know tbh. Nothing seems to work for me so just thought i'd give calorie counting a go.
