Are decaf tea's and coffee's diaretcs?

Hi, I was just wondering, as I've heard that drinking lots of water is good for weight loss. I'm not at all keen on water and love tea and coffee. I wondered wether drinking the decaf ones would be o.k, in between the water? They say that tea and coffee are diaretics, but I wasn't sure about decaf. Here's hoping. (Fingers crossed)

No, the theory is to have a glass of water before you eat, it tends to fill the stomach up a little so there's less space for food. Drinking water will just go straight through you and give your kidneys a 'wash out', Caffine is a diuretic so will make you wee more, this results in headaches etc. The best way to diet it to reduce portion size a little, eat foods that have lots of colour and are not beige (brown; burgers, bread, pasta, chips etc) and have a glass of water with each meal. Exercise is also important.

Thank you, I think I'll be fine with decaf coffee then, as long as I drink water with meals. That's a relief. I'm already doing everything else. I just read that drinking loads of water could speed things up.
