Hi, I have always been a pear shape, even when I was very slim.
I'm now on a diet and have lost half a stone, although I still have a long way to go. I wondered if there were any excercised to specifialy target the tops of the legs and sides of the bum?
I am walking a lot more, but I think I could do with something extra.

squats and lunges are great for bum and thighs
have a look on you tube

Thanks ggirl, I'll have a look. They sound very hard, but no pain, no gain.

I found frog sqatts on u-tube too. They look very hard to do, but I'll give them a try.
I also think I need to drink more water.

Haven't done it myself, but a pear shaped friend got very slim and toned doing Bodypump classes twice a week

Thanks, I'll look it up.

I use the Davina SUper Body Workout (Part of the Davina Box Set 2) which has got a great series of exercises for thighs.

Knee up (kickboxing style), front kick, side kick, step to the side then repeat to the other leg. I try and do 20 of these every day in the hope that it will slim up my thighs!

For bums then you want squats, and lots of walking up hills and stairs.

Oh great, I'll give that a try too.
