Transversus Abdominis (TVA)Can believe no one has every mentioned this to me before. I have always had a bugling stomach even when slim and through all the excercise programmes no one ever mentioned this as its the only excercise that will actually flatten the loose muscle.

I need to know how many clenches I need to do per day. I see you need to fold for 5 seconds but how long do you rest between and should I do a workout of 15 mins per day or what I cant find much info on this.

I know I need to mix with with fat burning excercise but I want to start with this to see if my 5 month pregers looking tummy will tighten a bit.

Hi Bacon,

I have just watched the video:
here
I'm gonna give it a go and I think it'll work. Before I had children I had a beautifully flat tummy but rather than luck, I am convinced this was down to being a singer and keeping my TVA muscles pulled in. I had to increase the air in my diaphram and just got used to holding in my TVA muscles all day long. I guess, after xhildbirth, these muscles just get slack.

I think these exercises are a bit like pelvic floor exercises. You don't incorporate them into a work out as such, but you do them here and there throughout the day.

Just do as many as you can, when you remember.

Incidentally, I love the way this is narrated by a BA Barracas soundalike
