2010 Cambridge Diet/Lighter Life Restarters Thread

mumhadenough · 10/01/2010 23:00

Thought I'd start off this new thread since all last years threads have completely died.

Anyone around thats still doing it, restarting or thinking of doing it?

I hit my target before Christmas, but I've gained a few pounds over xmas (haven't we all?) and have reset my target for a new lower 8st 7lbs (it was 9st 6lbs). So now have around 15 1/2lbs to go.

Here to chat with or support other cd'ers or ll'ers if anyone wants to join in.

Hi mumhadenough,

I'm on SS+ at the moment, working towards BMI25. Still 20lbs to go but I'm hoping 5 weeks and i'll be there.

Then it's on to 810 until my goal weight.

Day 4 yesterday and I'd lost 7lbs!

mumhadenough · 10/01/2010 23:09

Well done IHNSO, I scarily saw 10st 2lbs on the scales after the xmas --stuff- yourself stupid eat fest. But 4 days back on Cambridge and I was down to 9st 8.5lbs again. So I assume the majority of that was glycogen and just the sheer volume of food I'd consumed.

Have ss'd for first few days but back on 810 again now. Hopefully only for a couple of weeks and then move up the plans for stabilisation.

Just sitting here enjoying a choccie bar and some sparkling water with sunshine orange before heading off to bed. Yes I know I shouldn't have them in first week, but technically not first week really and I'm in ketosis anyway.

How much have you lost in total? I started at 13st, so pretty much back to 3.5 stone loss for me

When i first did it after DS1 was born I lost 3 stone, then fell pregnant with DS2 when i was a stone away from goal.

DS2 was born in feb and I've gone from 15st3 (!!) to 13st13. BMI25 is 12st8 for me so looking forward to getting there.

I should have reached goal before now but I got to 14st7 and maintained for a couple of months.

Looking forward to being slim again.

1.5stone gone, 2.5 to go!

mumhadenough · 11/01/2010 11:39

At least you managed to maintain and not pile on, which is great .

Oh well, looks like its just you and me so far IHNSO.

Hi I'm in

I restarted on 1st Jan after a 3 week break.

I have done cambridge a few times

2005 -lost 3 1/2 stone then fell pregnant and put it all back on

2008 - lost 7 1/2 stone and started working on maintenance but fell pregnant with twins!! Put 4 stone back on

2009 - Back to it and lost 2 stone for our wedding in december and am now looking to lose the other 2 stone before the end of march and this time I wont get pregnant or put it back on lol!!

Hope you are both doing ok and heres to a slimmer 2010

mumhadenough · 11/01/2010 22:38

Yay!!! A fellow cd'er. Welcome to the fold.

Wow at your 7 1/2 stone loss and then falling pregnant with twins. At least you had an excuse.

You've did fab though to keep getting back on the wagon.

Haven't did toooo badly today. Stuck to it all day had a Cranberry bar this morning and porridge this afternoon. Had salad for tea tonight and then sat about waiting for someone to show up tonight, who didn't. So what did I do, instead of reaching for my shake I had peanuts! Grrrrrrr really annoyed with myself and as tomorrow is weigh in day I'll prob be the same as I was yesterday. Ah well, was 10st 2 1/2lbs last Tuesday so as long as I show a half decent loss I'll be chuffed.

What are your favourite diet foods? Mine was always the choc mint shakes and peanut bars but my tastes have totally changed this time.

Previously I could never put the porridge near my mouth or the tomato soup, but this time I am absolutely loving them. Especially the apple & cinnamon porridge and tom soup. I have gone off the peanut bars which is totally wierd. Choc mint with ice is still the business though!

I what you mean about tastes changing, Last time I loved the choc orange and choc mint shakes but this time I cant stand them!

Infact I am only having the 3 tetras and the bars this time!

I love this diet but I am determined to stay at goal this time (and not add to my family anymore lol)

Im sure the peanuts wont do too much damage but dont do it again (bossyboots emoticon lol)

mumhadenough · 14/01/2010 11:03

Its really strange isn't it!

Lol at not adding to your family anymore .

Doing not too bad, scales appear to have dropped to 9st 6/12 this morning so catching up again, yay! . Although thats probably more to do with donating blood than anything! lol

Have had a good day yesterday and doing ok so far today. Haven't had anything yet, might have a porridge or spicy tom soup soon. Can't make up my mind. Oooooo the choices!

Hellllooo!
How are you all doing?
Had my WI on weds and lost 8lbs in week 1. Very pleased.
Struggling a bit today tho.

Funny about tastes changing- i used to hate the choc orange bars and at the moment I love them.

I'm like you Ready- did CD after DS1 and again after DS2. Determined that there won't be a DC3!

mumhadenough · 15/01/2010 23:50

Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy superb! Really really well done, thats brilliant!

Having a good day myself, looking forward to weigh in on Tuesday.

Its this time of night and at weekends I find hard. Really tempted by a vodka and coke zero at the mo, but think I'll go have a sparkling water and sunshine orange flavouring instead . Not quite the same is it? lol

Sorry I haven't been on for a few days as the broadband has been down due to the bad weather (no bad weather here where I live).
It will be the full works again as I probably have about five stone as I haven't been on any scales so I am just going on clothes size. The worst thing has been that I've ben aware of the weight going back on but have not been in a strong enough place emotionally and 2009 was a pretty crap year for me in many respects.
I am now in a much stronger place emotionally and positively looking forward to this challenge again

mumhadenough · 16/01/2010 14:02

Good to hear a positive attitude Jules . Half of the battle of doing a vlcd is having your head in the right place to do it!

Burying your head in the sand is how most people go back to their old weight I think. If you've had a weight problem its very very easy to go back to your old habits and your old weight, especially if you hide from it. I also think it helps when you learn to draw a line under any blips and not let them continue, iykwim.

Have you started back yet? Good luck, try to see your weight loss journey as a positive thing, with a new you at the end of it.

I'm doing good today. Had a few clients to see this morning so have only just sat down with a spicy tomato soup, yumm. Its my favourite at the moment. Just about to nip out and get some shopping. Will have bar when I get back then planning on trying to make a meal using the spicy tom soup tonight (I'm on step 2 on Cambridge), going to try something with chicken, celery, courgettes and make some cauliflower rice. I'll let yous know how it turns out.

Hope you are all having a good day.
