I've just had a flyer through the door telling me that Slimming World are starting in my village hall on Saturday morning in the new year, I've had a look on the web site, but it doesn't give a great deal of info (unless I've missed, but I figured they won't give info, you'll have to go to a meeting )

Anyway, can someone tell me if it's easy to follow? I've about 1 1/2 stone to lose, I've used Weight Watchers in the past, but the meetings are at inconvenient times really.

Thanks
x

I've just rejoined Slimming World to lose the stone I seem to have collected on my way to producing dd1 six months ago.
I don't know how things may have changed recently, as I was last a member two years ago in preparation for my wedding. I was successful in losing the weight I needed to and only gained it again with my pregnancy, so the healthy eating messages must have stuck a bit at least.
To be honest, I'd say that most well-known slimming groups (weight watchers, rosemary conley) offer good support and encouragement, and the biggest motivator is, of course, the weekly weigh-in. However, I'd say three good things about Slimming World...
1 - the menu's and lists are really simple. I found weight watchers really complicated, but the whole red and green day thing with slimming world was really easy to follow.
2 - the recipes don't really feel or look like diet food, so I was able to cook exactly the same for my husband without him really noticing the difference, and he lost 1/2 a stone too - without even knowing he was doing it! ;-)
3 - you will NEVER be hungry. They give you sooo much to eat in one day! All the menu's offer you yogurt and fruit after a meal, but to be honest, I never had the space!!
Good luck with it. Whatever you choose, remember slow and steady is the best way if you want the weight to stay off.
Best Wishes,
Poddy

Thanks Poddy, that sounds good, and something I could handle!

How much does each meeting cost?
