Anyone want to join me in a 3 day fad kick start diet ?

I was thinking of doing this 3 day diet from Friday then starting sw after that.
A friend of mine swears by it after overeating and says she loses 7lbs on it every time.

I have done this diet many times and I'd be glad to do it along with you beginning Friday. I do lose 7 lbs consistently but it does leave me feeling quite drained/ready for bed pretty early in the evening.

Hi Tuboflard
Glad to hear it works for you too

I've been shopping today so have everything I need.

Never tried this one, it reminds me of The Scarsdale Diet. I will give it a whirl, will stock up tomorrow.

TubOfLard · 31/12/2009 15:33

Had to purchase a grapefruit but now am set.

Bobbybee · 01/01/2010 10:01

I've weighed myself this morning at the scales.
I'll be happy if I loose the 5lbs I've put on in the past few weeks

Here goes. I think drinking lots of water will help (not diet pop like the reviewer was doing)

Good luck everyone and Happy New Year!

I haven't even looked at the link but would love to join in. I want to lose weight as well as needing too.

Bobbybee · 01/01/2010 11:17

Take a look Fab. 7lbs loss is what my friend and and TubofLard are claiming.
It will definitely be a good kick start.

(btw my friend is a veggie and replaces all the protein and eggs with veggie sausages, cottage cheese and baked beans in case you haven't got everything in)

Going well so far. It was a lovely sunny day here today which made it easier. We all went for a two hour walk so that should help. Feel cold though, dieting always makes me feel cold.

TubOfLard · 01/01/2010 19:48

I had never heard that you could have diet pop on this diet so news to me. I always substitute five crackers for the bread or toast and do use condiments for the hot dogs. Actually have lost 9-10 lbs with this diet in the past but two or three pounds always seem to return upon resuming normal diet.

What I like about this diet is that it makes me really conscious about what I'm eating. I tend to graze all day especially with the children on holiday-a very bad habit. Also, for me, the weight loss is rather immediate with two to three pounds lost the first day-then there's always the ice cream to look forward to...

Bobbybee · 01/01/2010 19:54

Glad its going well for you eggandsoldiers and Tuboflard.
The walk will definitely have helped and yes, dieting makes me feel cold too.

Do you have much to lose Tuboflard? I only ask as I'm really impressed with 9-10lb!

I have about 2.5 stone to lose.

I'm off to have my ice cream now. I've been looking forward to it all day. I'm really surprised you can eat a whole cupof normal vanilla icecream on a diet
It does help to keep you motivated though.

Hello all.

3 day diet looks interesting but think I would be very hungry on it.
I really need to stop the ridiculous overeating that started before Christmas and is just going on and on. Reckon I've piled on at least 7lbs in 3 weeks

I've lost a stone and a half with SW before, think writing it down is half the battle won for me and I was never hungry.

I'd like to lose a stone and a half and definitely need something to kickstart me.
Can't commit financially or timewise to SW meetings at the moment but need to summon the willpower to follow some strict red and green days.

Have you weighed in Bobbybee?

Bobbybee · 01/01/2010 20:12

Just checked - 1/2 cup of vanilla ice cream!

Hi Montifer.

I've not joined sw yet but I've been on their website and their extra easy plan looks brilliant.

I bought the magazine too and there are loads of recipes in it which look quite good.

They have a class here on Thurs mornings so I may sign up on thurs. I haven't decided yet as I'm a bit reluctant in paying money just to get weighed but I may need the discpline.

If you do join SW stay for the group meeting. It makes a huge difference and like you say it's not worth the £4.50 / week just to get weighed.

It's pretty easy to lose 4-5lbs on your 1st week (and 2-3lbs thereafter) with SW so I was wondering if it's worth doing the 3 day kickstart you linked to.

In fact, typing this I think I've persuaded myself to just do SW from tomorrow, the 3 day thing is making my throat feel dry

Thanks for the inspiration, good luck

Bobbybee · 01/01/2010 20:25

Thanks Montifer.

I'll have a 2yr old with me who I think will make it impossible for me to stay for meetings otherwise I would.

I'm doing the kick start as I'm genuinely concerned that my work trousers will be too tight for me on Monday!
Plus I have to get out of the 'eating all day long' habit.

Have you done the extra easy plan before?
Good luck to you too.

Montifer · 01/01/2010 21:04

Yep, all day eating and tight trousers sounds / feels familiar, luckily my work trousers were a bit loose before Christmas, I'll be horrifed if they are too tight next week.
My jeans are feeling very snug though

Agree 2 yr old and hour and half meeting doesn't sound compatible.

I haven't tried extra easy, I did red / green (mostly green) a couple of years ago and felt too stuck in my old ways when I revisited last year to try EE as it seemed less flexible than the original plans.

I saw quite a few people having great weight losses with it though.

Bobbybee · 02/01/2010 11:02

I weighed myself this morning and am 3lbs lighter

I'm not finiding this too bad. I think I can stick to it for 3 days. I would really struggle if it was any longer.

Montifer · 03/01/2010 12:25

Well done Bobby, hope the trousers fit tomorrow.

I'm getting the old SW book out tonight and will be writing down my sensible intake as of tomorrow morning.

Good luck with SW

TubOfLard · 03/01/2010 14:39

3.5 stone to lose, BobbyBee. Seems a lot to me.

Bobbybee · 03/01/2010 21:38

Thanks Montifer. I hope so too!

Writing down always helps. Overeating always looks worse when the foods are listed there in black and white!
I've joined the sw thread. They seem like a motivated and friendly bunch.

TubofLard 3.5 is not too bad at all. Its better if you take it in stone steps. If you start a diet now, in 6 weeks you could have only 2.5 stones to lose.

eggandsoldiers · 03/01/2010 22:05

Congrats Bobby and hope the rest of you are doing well. I am off to the gym tomorrow at six am and reasonable day today ...
