I am 28 years old have been skinny (size 10) all my life and never had a problem with weight gain until my 3rd child... With the first two, I gained and then lost but with my third, I gained and gained and gained! I can't seem to shift these extra pounds and I know that christmas is the worst time to start but I can't bear this anymore and want to do something about it. My nurse weighted me yesterday after having my depo injection which probably doesn't help my weight and told me that I need to loose 2st...

How easy is it to loose weight? Please someone HELP... need some advice!!!

Don't panic! I really recommend Weightwatchers, I like the online tools, it's a very easy system, and has a huge database of all supermarket food and food from places like Pizza Express etc. and it works. It does take a while, though, don't expect to lose it any faster than 2 lbs a week as anything more than that is likely to be water weight. 2 lbs a week means you can lose 2 st easily within 4 months so by Easter you will be sorted.

Thanks... that really helps.. will give it ago! I am just worried that i will fall off the wagon.

I like WW because it helps you plan for falling off the wagon e.g. what to have if you have an Indian take-away or go to a party. I've tried Slimmers World before but didn't last very long on it, I prefer the flexibility of WW.

twinkle183 · 16/12/2009 15:44

My friend tried slimming world and didn't get on with it very well!

SW is all about "red" and "green" days and I forget most of it but green was eating lots of veg and red was eating other things but I don't think you could have chocolate on any day so boo to that IMO. You can have chocolate on WW, it's just really really high in "points"!

Divster · 16/12/2009 17:11

Slimming world now has a new plan called extra easy, which is a mix of red and green and is very much like old the ww core.

twinkle183 · 16/12/2009 18:21

I think I am going to try the points system on ww... Just because you can everything you want.. just lots of points if you naughty... thanks very one wish me luck!

Good luck it really is fine

wickedwitchofwaterloo · 16/12/2009 20:40

I whole heartedly recommend WW
I have lost 72.5lbs (5st 2.5lbs) since the March 20th and now only have 31lbs to go to goal - I've found it so easy its unreal, I never feel like I'm denying myself a thing and I am finally able to consciously able to make healthy, but also enjoyable food choices.
Its not so much a diet to me, more a healthy way of life... Good luck, you can do it!

twinkle183 · 19/12/2009 15:54

Thats I really appreciate the support...

I lost all my weight following scottish slimmers. I was AMAZED at just how much I was eating whilst following the plan

FabIsGettingReadyForXmas · 19/12/2009 18:20

Having a 3rd child has caused me weight problems too. I know my problem is not being able to eat proper breakfast and lunch though as I am running round more than normal and eating less chocolate and drinking less alcohol.

Ideally I want to lose 2 stone too.

Jambuttie · 19/12/2009 20:18

In total I lost 3stone 5 lb going from size 22 to size 12!!!

If I can help in anyway I will x

willowstar · 20/12/2009 00:33

hello

did you manage to lose weight while breast feeding? Unlike everyone else I know I have actually gained weight while breast feeding and i am now the heaviest i have ever been and a size 18. I tried ww before and lost on it but cos I am feeding I was told I had 31 points and I just can't imagine losing weight while eating all those points.

butadream · 20/12/2009 14:37

I am doing WW whilst bf, DD is only 12 weeks old so I am eating all my points - it is working but very slowly, max 1lb a week loss whereas previously when I have not been bf WW will usually get me a 2lb a week loss. I will cut down on my points when DD is 4 months I think, she is my second child so I am not so worried about milk supply, it seems to be working fine.

mafi · 20/12/2009 15:59

I have done WW in the past and it worked well. However this time I was feeling strangely hungry with almost no control. I only had 1/2st to loose but I decided to go and see a nutritionist as I was feeling quite tired and weak as well. She told me that I was lacking Iodine and B12, which make me have "false hunger" and eat too much. I followed her advise and lost 11lbs in a month. More than I wanted really, but I feel great.

CybilinExcelsisDaewoo · 20/12/2009 16:04

How can anyone follow Weight watchers for the rest of their life though?

twinkle183 · 20/12/2009 21:36

willowstar I know how you feel - I did that I breastfed my last baby until 6 months but unfortunately after suffering with mastitis twice I gave up. Am also on the depo which I have never had any problems with after my other two but this time everything is different. I am not sure I could live on ww for the rest of my life... the thing is its not like I eat alot of junk food or am not active.. I run at least 6 - 8 miles a week...

mafi If you don't mind would you mind sharing your nutritionists secrets...
It's just I am experiencing tiredness well pretty much nackered all the time and think I maybe lacking the same as you... the B12 and Iodine...

wickedwitchofwaterloo · 22/12/2009 22:13

CybilinExcelsisDaewoo you follow it forever when you are making healthy choices without thinking about it and feeling the need to 'point' - I've been doing it for 9 months now and I just know what I can eat pretty much, I allocate my day without thinking and I'm still losing 2.5/3lb a week so it does work!

plus with maintaining, you get more points than you'd get if you were trying to lose weight iyswim?
