Anyone interested in creating a mini diet group. Could have a slimmer of the week etc. I would create a spreadsheet and keep track. You can disclose weight or just what you lost. I am 12 stone 7lbs and need to loose 3 - 3 1/2 stone.

mummymels · 02/12/2009 20:37

Thanks weekary. I hope you feel better soon. I am shattered this evening too so an early night for me.

LadyGlenChristmasPresent · 03/12/2009 11:22

Weigh-in this morning - I've lost another 2lb - hooray!
Hope everyone else is doing well - welcome Tumshe and well done Mummymels.
My goal for next week is to lose 3lbs so I can reach that magic 1 stone figure.

mummymels · 03/12/2009 21:13

Well done ladyglenchristmaspresent - good luck for this week. It's satisfying when you get to a stone mark isn't it.

weekary · 04/12/2009 01:21

Mummymels and LadyGlenChristmaspresent are slimmers this week. Well done. 2lbs is a great loss. Good luck all for next week. Will add in the newbies. Sorry for delay in announcing the slimmers.

Ooh thank you weekary, how exciting. I didn't think 2 lbs was that good this week but turns out it is. I really appreciate you doing this.
Good luck to you too for next week.

Stillcountingthebaubles · 07/12/2009 12:27

Hello everyone

So sorry to disappear last week. I wasn't very well for most of it and then I was just recovering and dd got ill ....

Better today and starting again ....

Weighing in today at 75.2 so not much success I'm afraid ...

Weekary - Hope your cold is getting better. Very sorry not to reply to you before now but THANK YOU so much for sending spreadsheet to my e-mail account. It is really appreciated!!

Well done to MummyMels and LadyGlen for last week.

Rushing now but back soon. Going to try and be really good this week. It's hard at this time of year though isn't it? Everyone really busy with extra work, extra Christmas events and prep, loads of people ill, dark nights, cold days ......!!!!

But must banish all that from the mind and try and just take little steps to improve. Getting to bed early is something I must try and do because I am more susceptible to the munchies when tired ....

Good luck this week everyone ...

mummymels · 07/12/2009 21:19

I am very excited. I had weigh in today and have lost 6lbs. My biggest weekly loss since week 1 when I lost 7lbs. Woo hoo, I am very excited. This diet is so easy! I never thought it would be but it is.

Stillcountingthebaubles - Sorry you and DD have been poorly. I hope you are both on the mend now.

LadyGlenChristmasPresent · 08/12/2009 10:19

Mummymels that is amazing! Well done. I have not been doing very well this week - too much wine - so am crossing my fingers for Thursday!

mummymels · 08/12/2009 20:48

Good luck LadyGlen, hopefully you can make it up over the rest of the week.

Which diet are you doing again?

LadyGlenChristmasPresent · 08/12/2009 21:22

I am not following a particular diet - I have cut out sugar and cheese and am strictly limiting refined flour and aiming at 1,200 cals a day. It was 1000 for the first couple of weeks but the wine crept back in.

mummymels · 09/12/2009 15:00

It sounds as if you are doing really well.

Stillcountingthebaubles · 10/12/2009 10:09

I've just put weight on!!

Sorry - don't want to add any negativity to this thread - and I'm really grateful to you Weekary for starting it ... but I am going to sign out.

Wishing you all well and huge success but my heart just isn't in it at the moment ...and I don't want to keep setting myself up for failure every week. I lost a week through illness last week and I've got too much on to focus properly at the moment and so I'm going to just try and "maintain" until after Christmas (and do a bit of exercise) and then I am going to start properly again in the New Year...

Good luck to all of you! You are doing really well!

LadyGlenChristmasPresent · 10/12/2009 10:31

Stillcounting - don't feel bad, you need to be in the right place to start. Start a new thread in the New Year - I will join you as I still have several stone quite a lot to lose.
Stayed the same this week but am going to try harder for next week.

Stillcountingthebaubles · 10/12/2009 11:26

Thanks LadyGlen - I might just do that!!

And well done on not putting any weight on this week!!

Good luck to everyone on here ...

mummymels · 10/12/2009 22:59

Stillcounting - Sorry you are feeling this way. Maybe in the new year you will feel in a better frame of mind and if your mind isn't on it now then as you say it is best to just enjoy Christmas and start in the new year. I look forward to hearing how you are getting on in the new year.

Good luck LadyGlen for next week.

weekary · 11/12/2009 09:26

Dont get disheartened ladies maybe it's the wrong time of year to be doing this. I could restart the thread in January and it could be our new year's resolution to lose weight. We could even try and do a sponsored weight loss for charity as an added motivation. Do people want to continue or wait. Let me know.

Remember its how you feel about yourself that matters, if you think you look good and you are happy with yourself then their is no point in over stressing. We have our little ones to deal with and that can be hard.

Think positive and worry about food less and things may improve.

Hi weekary

If the general consensus is to carry on I am happy to carry on for the moment. I don't know yet how and if I'll keep to it over christmas but I really would like to try and keep it going if I can to a certain extent. The sponsored weight loss sounds good too.

weekary · 11/12/2009 21:35

Cool. Where is it your from Mummymels. You sound like a really a lovely person.

Sorry for the late reply.

Thanks for being so understanding Mummymels and Weekary

  • I think you are right about the time of year!!

Am definitely NOT happy with myself so will pop back in in Jan to see what is happening ...and will try not to go completely mad over the holidays ...

Thanks again both!

mummymels · 14/12/2009 22:37

Weekary - I am in Hertfordshire.

Have a good christmas stillcounting and enjoy eating whatever you fancy. Make the most of it before you start back in January.

Stillcountingthebaubles · 15/12/2009 14:52

Hello. We are all (more or less) ill here so we are on unintentional diets ...

Hope you have a good Christmas too Mummymels and Weekary and everyone else on this thread ...

BTW saw these tips in a magazine recently:

Ways to keep the weight off over Christmas

  • give away unwanted food gifts ..
  • enjoy the cake and the pudding but only one moderate portion at a time ..
  • and don't go mad.. choose just few a favourites to enjoy not the entire buffet table
  • profit from extra time in the holiday and go on long walks and catch up on sleep ...
  • drink lots of water
  • keep mentally strong and banish "all or nothing" thinking. If you happen to pig out on one meal, don't think "oh well, I've blown it, no point in trying any longer", try and make better choices the next day ...
mummymels · 15/12/2009 21:59

Sorry you are all unwell stillcounting. Hope you are all on the mend soon. Thanks for the tips you saw in the magazine, they make sense.

Stillcountingthebaubles · 16/12/2009 21:29

Thank you Mummymels - that's kind of you

(I am fine now, everyone else is ill though!!)

We must all be losing some weight just keeping warm in this weather!!

mummymels · 16/12/2009 23:32

Sorry to hear the rest of the family are ill. There seems to be so much going around at the moment. Lol, good way to lose weight.
